It seems to be hit or miss, it either works or doesn't. Just call that number, hit 0, then 4 I think, it asks where to route the call. When you get someone tell them the online ESN switch didn't work, and they'll do it for you.

Is there any reason why the online esn changer won't work? Are the only steps you need to take to activate a phone online :
1. go to your verizon wireless account
2. go to activate equipment
3. type in new esn number
??
everytime I try that it just fails and tells me to contact customer support, do I need to set up nam 1 or 2 or something before hand or should that work? Thanks all!

What phone are you switching from and what is your new phone? If you are going from 1xRTT to EVDO the account needs to be provisioned first for that feature. Also, are you clicking the left link to "activate a new phone" or the right link to "activate equipment"? You want the right side and "acticate equipment".
I have used the online ESN switch no fewer than 30 times between my two e815s.
I have only had it NOT work twice and then it did work a few hours later or the next day.

it's pretty much a guarantee that the online esn changer will not work if you are going from a non-EVDO phone to an EVDO one, and vice versa. They always tell me that they have to add Premium Network Service which can't be done automatically.
But I never get charged, because I always try it 3 times even though I know it won't work.
Yeah you can't use that to switch between your e815 and your other 2 phones.Originally Posted by isdnmatt

I use the ESN changer all the time. I have 2 E815 and a A990. I usually switch from the A990 to one of my E815 if I go out to the club or something so that if I lose it or drop it like 5 times because I'm wasted, I don't feel as bad, because the E815 can take abuse.
Where can I get a copy of the ESN changer client?
