I did the update. Went from version 24.0_00.26.08 to version 24.0_00.26.11. The file is about 70mb.

The beginning of the upgrade said backup and the end said restore of personal info. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only info that didn't get backed up. It rewrote my menu files, overwrote my seem changes, changed my main screen, changed my ringer from the standard to a custom, and deleted the 2 BREW apps I had downloaded. Looks like it's back to square 1. Hopefully it fixed some problems.

I'm guessing all you VZW users could apply this somehow.
Where did you get the 24.0_00.26.11 file?

    Humpa,

When I ran MSU, it told me there was an update. I copied the files before it ran. Good thing, it deleted them when it was done.

I copied the files back to the firmware sub-folder, connected my other phone and opened MSU. It did the update right away without redownloading the file. I'm not sure if it is smart enough to know the phone has to say ALLTEL inside somewhere or not.

    I uploaded it here:

I can upload/ftp the files to your site if you have an address.
I sent you a PM with a humpa.com page I have set up for anyone who wants to upload. Don't post the url though - I don't have it protected or anything.

Sweet! Is this the first time MSU has been used this way to get a firmware file?
If so, that is a pretty cool milestone.

Did he just quietly release the Alltel K1M firmware 24.0_00.26.11?? Humpa can you verify this?

I can confirm that I just downloaded a zip file that unzipped to a 70.4 mb .shx file labeled appropriately.

I can verify that it seems that is exactly what he did.
    Nice job DanPFW

I added it to my firmware page, of course.

Now we need a Verizon K1m user to try it out.

The contents of the MSU file that comes with it may prove interesting as well.

Looks like a 64 character password or key followed by a bunch of code.

Well.. I wouldn't suggest using this unless you like looking at a flashing "HelloMoto" screen.

    Oy! Good luck!

Hope the next candidate does a full backup of everything on his phone first.
It will really make it easier to do the needed changes and document the procedure.

Do I sound like a nag?

ranch, so it bricked your phone? Looks like Humpa should not post the link on his site.
