    ^^That makes some sense.

My guess is folks over at HTR are following the guide posted there, which if memory serves me is using the #777 using your#@vzw3g.com w/vzw as the password.

I don't use DUN myself but was kinda curious as to what could have changed seeing as there have been at least 5 people over there stating this, and now a few here at Hofo.

Well, I EvDO BT tether everyday several times a day with my i730 and my V9m and never have any problems. I do have a Vcast subscription and edited the tethered NAI in QPST service programming.

the username and password is hardcoded in the phone - so if they are putting it in the dial up window, then that's what they are doing wrong I suppose

Perhaps mine has went down since I don't have Mobile Web or VCast. I've been using a proxy for my Mobile Web, and I've never turned on VCast. But, my Mobile Web still works on the phone, just the DUN getting blocked now. I did the hack that allowed EVDO DUN, but can't remember what else, since its been a while since I did it. Like I said though, it had been working great, its a fairly recent problem with it being blocked.

sounds like the hack is no longer in place. Since it is just a file on the phone, it is conceivable that the phone had a glitch and rewrote that file with the original.

I was able to use DUN but, since installing the new firmware, it's stopped working even with the fix. I don't know if Verizon had removed the capabilty because I switched back to my E815 to test it and it's no longer working. I don't know whats going on. Good luck

Yes I can on the E815. Will reset back to the Z6C and let you know if it works with the new firmware as well as the DUN - BTW thanks for the firmware posts especially the Pelephone one. I'm going to try to have them activate my Razr when I next go but it be next year!

Switched back to Z6C, reset the mode on the Palm TX, DUN works OK - and get-it-now works just fine.

Thanks to all for your questions and input. I appreciate it very much!

Also, you can use PST to open a feature file and scroll down to New Passwords field.
The User Lock and Security Lock will show as all 0s. Check the box next to each and upload to phone.

They will then be reset to 0s. Another words, PST won't read them but can reset them.

All of these codes can also be read with BitPim in the syn_feature file.
Then you can simply right click on that file and select hexdump and then read the SPC from line 00004D40 offsets A,B and C.

Look further up in that same file at lines 00001AF0 to 00001B10(3 lines)
they will contain the 4 digit lock code and 6 digit security code.

This may have happened if you used QPST to write a service programming to the phone which resets the 4 digit User Lock to the 4 digit MDN of NAM 2.

    It's a little Qualcomm quirk...

but on Motorola Z6c doesnt Work??? i try but soft not response

Use RadioComm or MoST to read those seems or RSD General to read the security group file and write back 0s to all lock codes.

Hello guys, I was able to connect to the internet on my computer with my VX 9400 in the past, but recently I tried and it seems verizon has added a new security feature. I only used the 1X to connect to the internet and when I tried to go to a webpage, the verizon page showed up and it says I have to subscribe to the data service which is $60/month. Is there anyway to bypass this? If not, then I guess no more free internet. I don't really use this for internet, but lately my dsl has been disconnecting for no reason so I wanted a backup internet.

No, there is NOT a way to by pass this without subscribing to the $59.99 BroadBand Access Plan.

To tether without the BBA plan is against Verizon's TOS and they are cracking down, and closing the loop holes people have been exploiting.
