To tether without the BBA plan is against Verizon's TOS and they are cracking down, and closing the loop holes people have been exploiting.
Though he posted in the K1m thread, is he asking about the K1m or the LG 9400?
Though they appear to be cracking down, and Howard doesn't want us providing guides/help on how to do it, I can tether just fine still on my LG phones ...
Right. That is what I mean by Verizon is cracking down on the loop hole...
If you tether without the broadband accesss plan, chances are you will come to that page, and get no further. There is NO WAY around this. Its on Verizon's servers end. So unless you can break into VZW, and hack their servers, you have no choice but to comply with their TOS and subscribe to BBA.

Was just posting that I had seen similiar results. I wasn't trying to find a way around their lockdown.
It was fun while it lasted and I am surprised it lasted as long as it did.
I followed instructions on the guide, everything looks ok except that edited tethered nai info is not being saved to the phone. I tried the 2742 Offset 5A bit 7 seem edit but no difference (Mark_Venture mention in post #111 that this edit does not work in K1m). I read some people got this working (the tethered nai edition) on the K1m.
My phone's software version is 24.0_000.2602E.
Any suggestions on how to apply the tethered nai edit would be pretty apreciated.
I need some help with connecting my Motorola Droid to QPSt. QPSt detects the phone thru QPST configuration but when I try to use service programming as soonas i select the Active phone and click connect it gives an error : PST- surf6300-ZRF6300-NAND NO INTERNET SUPPORT".
Could you please help resolving this issue. As I want to change PRL setting of the Phone.
Looks like you need a different version of QPST. 2.7 build 323 is the latest available and works with the Droid. Whichever version you are using is not identifying the chipset properly and that is why it fails to read.
The Droid is has QSC6085 Nand base band chip but is misidentified even with build 323 as QSC6055 Nand chipset. This is close enough that it works.

I'm getting the same problem, but the strange thing is that in my case, the tethered NAI is locked to my mobile number with nothing after it. /nvm/ in QPST has a red mark going through it so I can't work with NVM_FACTORY. I'm using DST -> Telus Upgrade (2401_03.13.00). Can anyone help? Feel free to PM me if you're not allowed to discuss the solution publicly.
And what's up with this blocking nonsense from Verizon? And why the hell are they charging $60/month for 5gb of data when the last time I looked into a regular unlimited (afaik - was probably limited anyway) data plan it was only around $30. AS IF they need the money. I think we all know it was caused by the morons who abused it despite countless warnings (written on the very same pages from which they found the hacks), using it instead of home broadband service, on P2P filesharing networks, etc.
Ok, done ranting now but am wondering:
1 - The people who are supposedly using the service 'illegally', is there a service that they're using or paying for that gives them unlimited access to EvDO but you're not "supposed" to tether with it? (if so, I know what it is so you don't have to repeat it) If not, then have nothing extra and are just paying per megabyte and still getting blacklisted? They key word here is "paying" - if you're paying for it then why is it a problem? Any data I used on the XV6800, tethered or not, was charged by the kb (left over from a previously-offered smartphone ppu KB plan) unless I was on the unlimited data plan, which was only $30/month back about 2 years ago.
CS said I'd be charged by the MB if I did anything with the w385 (no EvDO). So nothing was free for me.
2 - What's happening, are people able to use it until they're blacklisted, at which point they're blacklisted indefinitely?
3 - Any idea on what criteria they're using to blacklist someone?
Feel free to point me to the appropriate thread(s). I've read thousands of posts across dozens of threads over the last few days. What's a few more going to hurt? I've forgotten what the hell I was looking for in the first place anyhow
Ugh. Next time Verizon reminds me that I have a new every 2 credit, I'm going to ask them to get rid of it so that I'm not tempted to buy one of their crappy new phones and get stuck into a contract.
