Treymok.. I don't think anyone can tell you for sure if going back to the Verizon FW will help you. Did the symptom show up immediately after you flashed with Alltel? And has it persisted since then?
I never used the DUN feature on the Verizon FW. As for the Alltel FW, it has always done it. It's just a matter of if its going to do it five minutes after connecting or several hours. Anyways, I've decided to go ahead and test it out on the Verizon FW since it's not to much of a bother to flash to it and *288 (I think it is) my phone to be up and running (after backing up my media and phonebook of course). If it's going to act the same I'll know for sure in a few hours.
I'm getting bad username/password.
My tethered NAI is stuck at my#@alltell.net and each time I change and write to phone, as soon as i read again, it's back to alltel. This is on my k1m.
Hi all,
I am a noob in this field. I have a Verizon K1m and a Nokia N800... I have a few questions...
1) Am unable to send files through my N800 to the K1m.... K1m displays the file name that i am trying to transfer and once i hit accept my N800 gives me this error "Connection failed to Motorola Phone". I have edited the Bit 7 of the 6A offset in 2742 seem to enable bluetooth transfer.
2)i enabled the seem to enable me to view the /nvm folder according to a thread in the forum, but i am unable to see the folder in the p2kcommander. I need this to enable my DUN through Vz K1m. Also i tried QPST, but my phone doesn't show as a SURF device.... also the speed is set at 34800 instead of 11200 as mentioned in the http://www.howardforums.com/archive/...1018585-1.html
I am using QPST 2.7 version...does that matter... when i open the service programming in the QPST as mentioned in the link the M.IP tab doesn;t show up after reading from the phone, so am unable to edit the profile for the DUN
3) I have Motorola HS850 bluetooth headset which i would like to use as a wireless headset. N800 recognises this as a audio/video device and not a headset so it doesn't transfer the speaker output to the HS850. Is it possible to pair these devices as i would like to use this with my Skype to make calls.
i know its a huge list but i would greatly appreciate any suggestions ....

which means you didn't follow the guide correctly, or something went wrong...

TWO of these questions are WAY OFF TOPIC FOR THIS THREAD... they should be their own thread.

the Verizon K1M does NOT support Bluetooth Object Push Profile (OPP) which is what is needed to transfer files directly between phones.

Which seem edit? If you mean 2742 Offset 5A Bit 7 - File Access in QPST - Check to Unlock, Uncheck Lock... that doesn't work on the K1M.
QPST build level DOES matter, but you don't state which you have. you want v2.7 build 215 or higher... Where as V2.7 build 231 or above is recomended..
If it doesn't show as SURFxxxxx what does it show as??
Which "windows" drivers are you using to make the K1m show as Moto USB Modem in device manager?

What does this have to do with the K1M?
The HS850 uses/supports the Headset/Handsfree profile only... Not Bluetooth stereo audio (A2DP), or anything else... So you need to be sure that your N800 supports that profile for it to work.

Mark, Is my problem reversible in any way? I did my best following the guide and it was my first flash. Managed to get everything working except for EVDO/DUN.

If you followed the MONSTER2 writeup... you can try just restoring the Radiocomm seem backups... that you made while you were on Verizon.. and HOPE it sticks...
If it doesn't... you may have to flash back to Verizon, make new backups... and make sure the MIP fix is done properly... (see either section 3C1 or section 7)

Actually, my Verizon K1m did support OPP... It was able to push any file from the phone.. and it was also able to receive any compatible file (video, picture, sound) from another phone via bluetooth... The problem sounds like an incompatible/unsupported file. Or the newer K1m's no longer support OPP... I haven't kept up with them in the last 8 months, since I've switched to Sprint..

Sorry, just checked my notes... You're right it did support some OPP.. but not ANY FILE... it was.... Bluetooth Object Push (aka OPP) for vCard/Contacts and Image transfer ONLY. Not sounds, video's or ring tones.
Just wanted to say thank you Ken. I just upgraded a phone to one of these Motorola KRZR K1m w/EVDO and thought I was going to lose my internet access. I first tried the disable of EVDO on it and the speed wasn't too bad but another person lead me to your guide which made speeds double for me. Here's what dslreport shows:
Thanks again for all your time and sharing your knowledge.
