What's the best choice for a quad-band GSM phone that plays MP3?

Need advice for a new phone purchase. Here's what I'm looking for:

    - Quad-band GSM: must have

    - Can be used as a good MP3 player w/ expandable memory: great to have

    - Small and light: preferred

    - Camera features: ok but not important

    - Internet, email, test messaging: don't care.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Sony Ericsson W810i would be GREAT... it meats lots of those.

    It has Quad Band

It is a Walkman branded phone. And it takes memory cards so you can stuff more music on it.

It's alright weightwise, not heavy imo. There are heavier phones for sure out there

It's got a 2mpx camera, and Sony Ericsson cameras are pretty decent.

    It's got it all really.

Is there anything similar in a slider or clamshell form? My past two phones have been candybar and I think it's about time I have a change. Except the thing is I can't decide whether I would like clamshell or slider form better.

I think I'm leaning towards a clamshell form, but I can't find anything that I truly like. The Sharp 903sh has teased me for a long time, but there are a few things that are keeping me from jumping over the fence. Size (although that can be overlooked since it's got a nice *** screen...), no external screen, no perfect firmware... I've been holding out in hopes that Softbank would release something that would have me at love at first sight (in style + functions), but following their disappointing press release regarding their new phones I'm wondering if it will ever happen at all

As for sliders, I think the Samsung D900 is very nice. The Samsung d900 has everything the OP is looking for as well. Quadband, mp3 player + expandable memory via transflash, 3mp camera, and other misc functions. Small and thin as well.

Now if only I can find a similar phone in clamshell form and still look sweet...

Now my wife also wants a new phone. On top of what I'm looking for, the phone has to look good. (What can I say?)

She doesn't like the all-black look of W810i. Does it have a silver or white version? I saw the pictures somewhere but don't see anyone selling them.

Also she likes the look of the new Nokia 5300 Xpress Music(Red). But I don't know when it'll be available in US.

If you don't mind the loss of 850MHz (And you do have a W800i which doesn't have it) you have a LOT more to choose from generally.

The W710i from sony is nice and slim with all features and more.

The KRZR K1 is also full featured and slim and small..

W810 is too bulky big IMO ..
