i believe i erased all the "right menu" files because when i do press the right menu button i recieve this alert message: "Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename". That means that the right menu files are gone right? now i want to replace that right menu tab on the home page back to the contacts tab. i remember on my old motorola there were settings options that allowed you to change the left and right soft key options to different things....is there a way to also do this with the dash?
did you go to the \windows\startup directory and see if there are any files there. The reason why i say this is because any program (aside from anything on your home screen) that is running after the initial bootup process, The only ways they can run is if the program is in the \windows\startup directory. Take for example,,,there's a program called photo contacts pro. When the program is installed, it creates a program shortcut in the \windows\startup folder. If i arbitrarily remove the directory, but don't remove the program in the \windows\startup folder the program will still "try" to start when the phone boots up.
byw: don't confuse what directory i'm talking about. I'm not talking about the \windows\start or \windows\ start menu directory....... i'm talking about the \windows\startup directory
ooo ok im not sure how to do that then....(i just recently found out how to put nes games and that took me forever) how would i be able to go to the \windows\startup directory?

I am trying to Get TxtMan (Text Threader) to work. What is a good registry edit program? What else do I need to download or do to get it working? Thanks for your help guys!
Anyone else having problems using yahoo mail on a Dash? I've had no issues for the past 5 months up until today where I an't connect. Not sure if there's a glitch and I need to set this up again or if it's an Imap thing.
Mine seems to be working just fine. All I did was have the setup find the automatic settings for yahoo and its worked ever since. Did the same with gmail.
Ok I was so pissed off at the stupid T-mo background so I decided to poke around and see how to remove/change it.
I found the reg key here:
HKLM/Security/Phone/Skin/PROGRESS/Landscape/other
It points a string called bmpNormal which has a value of \Windows\BackgroundImage_Land.bmp. Now if you remove that file its gone of course but you can replace it with another image too it seems. Now another interesting thing is if I open the image in Infraview it says its a JPG with a incorrect extension... So you can remove the entry in the registry or change the image.
Does anyone know how to do this on the T-Mobile Dash?

you need to tell the computer to show hidden files. then you will find it. with the phone connected to active sync, go into the windows mobile device, then click the tools tab at the top, go to folder options, then view tab. click the bubble for show hidden folders and hit apply and ok. It should show up after that.
