Is there any way to refresh the icon cache on the Start Menu?
My Communication Manager now has a default folder icon, and I had the same problem with the Calendar icon. When I move the icons to a different folder they look normal, but when moved back to the Start Menu root they revert back to the default icon.
Also, is there any way to permanently remove the "Setup my E-Mail" icon from the Start Menu? After a soft reset it's back!
Why can't certain icons be deleted/moved/copied with the SP File Explorer, but can be deleted/moved/copied on the PC?

I had this problem quite a bit on my SDA (every other soft reset, the icons had incorrect icons. Usually another reboot fixed it) But surprisingly nothing like that on my Dash...
Also after a soft reset, my MyMail icon, *does* stay invisible.
I hate to say it but maybe something wrong with your device... Has it done that ever since you got it? (before you installed apps)
The ability to move icons sometimes depends on the shortcut itself (rom/readonly) and the explorer you are using.
For those I couldn't move, I used htc's SDA explorer to set the file properties to "hidden" that way they don't show up and my start menu is nice and clean...
Let me know if you need to "evaluate" that app to see if you can hide shortcuts..

Help Me please
I just got my dash. I have the tzones set up as the internet. I was able to set up my email by having my dash get them from mytmobile. Now it says check your data connections when I try to check the messages. I checked messages once and now that happens. In addition, sms settings, what should it connect to?

Day three has been all about customization.
Specifically, getting my hands dirty with homescreen modifications. The Smartphone platform differs from the Pocket PC platform in this regard: 1) The Today screen is referred to as a "homescreen"; 2) Standard .tsk theme files are not supported. Rather, a JPEG is placed into a designated folder along with a corresponding XML file. The JPEG displays the background image, while the XML provides configuration info for plug-ins and other homescreen items.
Initially, I was a bit adverse to this concept. It all seemed a bit backward. However, the more I began downloading, installing, and tweaking homescreens, the more it became apparent that the JPEG/XML combo is actually quite a flexible and intuitive way to manage your today page.
Fundamentally, the XML file allows for unlimited customization. Plug-ins are generally added by creating a new set of tags, provided the application supports it. Without trying to put my neck on the line, I suspect this could become the de facto standard...
Several artist folk have leveraged this concept to develop beautifully crafted screens. Thanks to eko (from Qusers) for developing the Vader screen below.
Let me know if this app works for you guys, I installed it but it still didn't disable XT9 in IE even after a soft reboot. The JOGGR customization works great!
ok so i downloaded microsoft.netcf2.0 to my phone along with dashconfig.exe. when i try to open dashconfig.exe it tells me it has an associated application and to run the application first then open the file from within that app. only problem is when i go to microsoft.netcf2.0log it only opens up a web page with a bunch of code. Im new to all the smartphone stuff can anyone help?
