Sandisk MicroSD - "Card Not Ready"

I put the new 1gb card into my CU500. When I go to memory card, it was "Card Not Ready". Using the adapter, I put the memory card into my digital camera where it said it was "locked". Any idea on what I can do or is it just a bad card?

    Thanks!

Format the card in your computer. Turn the phone off, insert the card in the phone. Turn the phone on. done.

I just got the phone and micro sd card today and it is also saying card not ready. I put it in my card reader on my computer and nothing's happening and I can't find it anywhere. What kind of cards did you use, brandonb? What is the new one that worked?

btw, I'm using a memory card called dane-elec I got from Target. Now I'm starting to regret rushing to get a memory card just to find out that it is not compatible with my phone.

Yikes, take that cheapo back to Target. I've heard that the CU500 is pretty picky about compatible microsd cards. I know Kingston doesn't work with that phone, so try a SanDisk.

Well I just know I've read dozens of posts from people that have had problems with Kingston and the CU500. I'd still steer clear of Kingston for that phone, especially if you order it online b/c returning it is a hassle.

I ordered my Sandisk 1GB card from NewEgg and it was a bad card. I swaped it out with one at Best Buy and it worked fine.

The kingston brand may work but it seems the sandisk brand has been more successful with the CU500.

I bought my 1 gig sandisk card from newegg.com last week and it works great.
