I went ahead with the instructions from the Altel flash tutorial and added Get it Now, etc.

It appears that GIN works, I get the catalog and downloaded a free ring tone which I really don't want but how else to try it?

As far as VCast is concerned, I get "Application digital signature failure. (1031)" I have no idea what that means?

As far as mobile web, I've not tried it because I have no use for it at this time. Someone else will have to try these I guess?

I flashed to the Generic Motorola Monster Flash,

Previously I'd taken a look at the VIVO flash.

As near as I can determine, the only difference is that the Moto flash doesn't require changing to English. What other differences are there, if any?

The generic flash is debranded, meaning it doesn't have any of the carrier (Verizon, Alltel, Vivo, etc.) flash screens or sounds. I believe, but can't be sure since I've flashed to the Bell v3c, that all options are enabled, like transferring to TF card, etc. The generic flash doesn't have the Vivo mp3 player, so if you use that a lot on the Vivo fw, you might miss it.

All I do is make and receive calls, it's a phone and that's all I want it to be, nothing else.

After following the instructions for fixing GIN, etc. from the Altel Flash tutorial I've reflashed to the basic Moto flash, activated, re-entered my phonebook, put the settings to my preferences and... I'm done. I *LIKE* it, no annoying red bars, etc.

I flashed one of my v3ms to the generic today, and noticed that the TF card as a usb drive option isn't there.

I just got my krzr k1m.. had some fun modding just getting some ringtones wallpapers and throwing some music on it..

I found that when I upgraded to the firmware posted in the topic that I can no longer view my audio/video/wallpapers or none the less hardly anything besides the weird hz file...

any help greatly appreciated or if anyone has a fix around this ie: using a different program.. a stock firmware flash that came with the phone

vzw will not flash to an older firmware they said its not possible.. they said only thing i supposedly could do is try to flash it if it doesnt work they could try to flash back to the firmware above..

help??? lol I have had the phone like 3 days figured out how to mod it and removed it all in the same day ROFL

LOL im on a roll.. have added mods broke phone and all fixed it within 24 hrs.. wtf is wrong with me

anyway the reason i couldnt see the system files...

Menu/settings and tools/phone settings/system select/set mode/home only

was set to automatic b when it got flashed..

Hope this helps many im going to give updates on if its still possible for me to add wallpapers etc but it does now show the system files

I just got my K1m flashed to this firmware today and a couple of things I have noticed so far is the Web sessions menu is gone from the *073887# menu and now when the phone is closed if you press the side button for the speakerphone for 2 to 3 seconds then release the music player will start and start playing all songs.

Thanks for the seem info. I just had my K1M flashed to the latest SW and had the same thing happen. Your seem fix worked. One other thing that I need help on is, the update has stopped me from being able to get to 'test mode'. I can enable it in the *073887# menu but it defaults back to disabled when I restart the phone. Any ideas? I really liked being able to disable EVDO.

I flashed the old .02 V3c firmware to my phone a couple days ago to get my pix off the phone and onto my comp. Tried the seem edits and another frimware version first but nothing worked for some reason. So today I took the phone to the Verizon store to have them update the firmware. No problem there so far. After i get the phone back, all my saved messages, sent and received are erased.

But the couple of drafts I had are still there. Is this normal practice? Seems strange to leave the drafts but erase the sent and received folders completely. Just being curious here.

After researching furthur, it looks like 01.19.05 prevents some seems from being edited. Is it possible that Motorola has locked some seems to a default value? If so, can we unlock them?
Can I return my K1M to an earlier VZW firmware version without bricking it? I understand this version has caused trouble to some.

I need help. I bought a V710 off eBay for my wife, and it has the Alltel Flash in it. I am needing to get it back to Verizon so that the GIN and all that stuff work the way it is supposed to. Does anyone out there have a good MONSTER file for the V710?

I tried that one, but MFF gripes saying error processing flash file. Any other ideas? I have successfully flashed other phones before, so I know I am going through the right process. I have even flashed this phone with a generic flash before without problems. Only issue is this particular file.
