Diddo, I'm getting 1.8Mb/s in Toronto on my Captivate. How is everyone else getting past 2mb/s?
I live in North York and my windows is facing a cell tower which I point my phone to while doing the test.
If I don't point it at the cell tower I get 1.7mb/s or less.

    What could the factors be?

Wow, pretty fast in Brandon Manitoba.. considering there's probably only 5 people currently using the network (they keep testing it on and off). Tethering iPhone 4 to my laptop. My parents friends are all planning on switching to Rogers/MTS 3G sticks/routers once 3G's permanently up at end of March.

Gotta say, been really happy with the increase in speeds in my area (east end Montreal). I've seen the network go from solid 3 years ago to worse as the smartphone users increased, to very good now.

These are relatively normal speeds for me. iPhone 4 BTW.
17.50 ("killer plan": 200 mins by the second, unlimited E/W from 5pm) + 10 (retention VP: 2500 SMS, CD, VM) + 30 (data plan: 6GB with tethering) - 10 (data credit)
    = $47.50 + 911 + tax
If you're selling a good plan on Telus, Bell, or Rogers, PM me.

tethering via joikuspot on my old nokia n95, not bad for $7/month (unlimited mobile browsing)

Did this last test with the phone upstairs in my bedroom on the window sill, door closed too. was expecting alot slower speed considering the distance from the pc

Probably one of the slowest results on my iPhone 4 on pre-HSPA launch in Manitoba. Well, I was testing it in the middle of a Superstore, generally service is minimal/non existant so it was good that it was working

Tethering earlier, I'm getting pretty decent speeds. I'm going to assume in the country it will be even faster (less people using it), making it the first real option for highspeed internet for most people.

    Hooray for 3G!

Desire HD. I am very close to a tower, but this was in my basement office. Have to test outside some time. The ping is nice!
