What do I need for GMail Java App (MDA)

Despite a lot of reading, I'm not totally clear on how Java apps work on the MDA. For instance, I would really like to try the new GMail app that requires Java. So how does this work? Do I install a program that is then automatically called up when try to start something else (like Gmail) that requires Java?
I have a file I downloaded awhile back named "Intent_MIDlet_manager.cab." Will that do the trick or do I need something else?

    TIA!

Yes, that will do the trick.
    1. Install the Intent Midlet Manager.
    2. go to the http://gmail.com/app on your MDA and follow the directions. It's been a while, so I forget what actually happens, but if there is a choice pick the "High/Advanced" version.
