is there a way to keep have the phone vibrate as well as play the ringtone during an incoming call? or is it just one or the other?
Yes. Go into profiles and edit the Normal profile by changing it to "vibrate and ring" under "ring type." There are also other choice like vibrate then ring etc.
is it possible to set up a dial up connection through the blackjack using a free isp access number?

is there a registry setting to save SMS messages to my storage card?
I tend to hold on to them and have held on to them for a year, now my storage memory is full.
I asked this question earlier in the larger Blackjack thread. Apparently the phone doesn't support automatic keylock, you have to hold down the "end" key for 3-4 seconds and it locks the phone.
Settings/Security/Device Lock allows you to set an inactivity time to go to automatic lock. You have to set a PIN or Password to unlock the phone. Once you set the automatic lock, you can let the delay set the lock or manually lock it as before. Pressing any key while locked brings up the PIN/Password prompt. Enter the PIN/Password and press the Unlock softkey.
When you are going through the email settings for an email account, look under Advanced Settings for the Outgoing Mail Server. You can choose to delete messages on the server when they is deleted on the phone or leave messages on the server. Apparently the default setting deletes the messages on the server when they are deleted on the phone.

I pointed to the wrong place in the settings because I was not looking at the phone as I typed the reply. You go into Menu/Options/Account Settings for the specific email account, hit Next until you get to the screen with Automatic Send/Receive on it. Click on Advanced Settings on that page and you can choose to Delete message on the server or leave them on the server when you delete them on the phone. Hit Done and next until you get to Finish.
Other Microsoft Smartphones probably have the same choices.
Okay I know.... old hack, old problem. I'm a noob and I really want to get that stupid start up / shut down noise off of there. The hacks I've found online don't really tell me clearly how to do it. Someone please help this pathetic old noob!
Visit www.myblackjack2.com and look at some of the hacks there. There is a .cab file you can load that will disable that business, along with several cool others.
On a Blackjack I, is there a way to move the messages to the storage card or clear memory besides-
clearing IE memory
deleting messages
deleting notes/appts./contacts/favorites
rebooting?
and my Remove Programs doesn't show anything?
(since I've tried all that already and my memory is 54 mb)
even though my ringtones and pictures are on my storage card, do they get copied to the device storage?
I have a ringtone that I have stored on the microSD card. Occasionally the phone will default to the standard ringtone rather than that one I selected for a certain contact. I guess that sometimes the card is too slow responding so it switches to the default ringtone. To avoid that happening I copied that ringtone to internal memory.

There are programs that can offload lots of stuff to your memory card. But the 54mb free your seeing is pretty good. There is 128mb to use and the OS takes most of that up.
I typically only store several key items on my phone. Ringtones, backgrounds, Resco Explorer, Resco Registry, and WinRar. Everything else is installed to my microSD card.
I keep those on there because those programs are basic programs you want to have access to in case your microSD card dies. For the ringtone and background... it'll always speed up your phone if stored locally.
Earlier I wrote about using a PIN/Password enabled Device Lock. Iwas using the PIN enabled Device Lock. I was having trouble with 3G voice so I decided to reset the phone to see if it helped. I did a full backup and reset the phone. Now the Device Lock works without a PIN and still has a timout value. It requires me to press the power button but I only have to press the Unlock softkey. I do not have to press the "*" after that.
By the way, resetting the phone did not fix the 3G voice problem. I'll order a ten-pack of AT&T 3G SIM cards and see if the problem goes away when I activate one of them.
Did the thread die or move? I know the phone is getting old and I know I will have to upgrade shortly. I just did not want to have to re-invent the wheel if possible and would like to move with everyone else if thats what happened.
Specifically thought, I am looking for how to store my emails on my sd card. I could have sworn there was a cab file that I had used in the past. I know there is a registry hack.
Unfortunately, the knowledge here is very spread out and I cannot find either right now. Could some kind soul point me in the right direction maybe?
