Thanks for the instruction.I have tested this method with Calender/schedule additions, and custom mp3 ringtone addons.
I'm most interested in the last part :
"custome mp3 ringtone addons"
How to do that? (I'm new to this board and just got my verizon KRZR k1m, and like to do some customization by myself)
Thanks for the help.![]()

If it isn't a Motorola, it really isn't a phone...

I'm surprised you can get MPT to work with the V3c at all, unless Verizon has changed something to allow it to connect. I had to do a SEEM edit on my son's phone to allow it to work with MPT because Verizon disabled it. That was over a year ago, though, so maybe it's different now.Originally Posted by ofelas
I always found the bluetooth to be more tenuous than the usb. It'll most surely be slower (the older usb 1.1 is up to 12 Mbit/s, whereas even the newer BT 2.0 has a theoretical max of 3.0 Mbit/s). I would invest a few bucks in a cable. Wal-mart carries one - or at least, used to - in the game section for the PS2 that was under $5. It works great.
ok... im running into a problem... when i use the multimedia studio, i use it for gsm phones, it wont allow me to save the files... when i click save, "unable to save file" or when i try to transfer it to the phone, it says that "mp3 codec may be inappropriate or missing" what can i do to get this to work?

According to David, this version has been tested with 32bit and 64bit versions of Vista and he can get it to work: Link
I would recommend uninstalling everything first before trying to install this. Unfortunately, I was not able to get it to work. Maybe somebody else will have better luck.
I did talk with Verizon tonight about the issues and they said a "newer" version of the cable was released which supposedly fixes all these problems. Not sure if I buy this unless there is interference coming from the phone causing the cable to mis-transmit bits. I'll see if I can get the new cable tomorrow and see if it fixes the problem.
im gona try the above guide with my motorazr2 v8
After talking with Verizon on this issue, they said the place where I purchased the cable sold me the wrong cable assembly. I was thinking this was BS but told them to get me the right one. Anyways, I finally got the new cable and while it is different in diameter to the original one, I think it worked the same.
What was different was the software included on the CD. The drivers and setup routine worked and did properly setup my phone so it would work on my computer. I am quite surprised that Verizon doesn't have this version on their website since I had tried that one before but with no luck.
Why not download the driver from Motorola's support website? I did that - installed it and Vista detected it just fine.
Didn't even have to follow the instructions in this thread.
I did try the MOT drivers several times but non of them ever seemed to work. The phone could never find the right drivers.
If you look at the Hardware ID of the phone from Verizon and the INF files from the drivers, there isn't a match which prevents it from setting up properly.
Seems like Verizon went out of their way to make this phone harder to use than it should be.
I had no problems connecting to my phone when it had the verizon firmware on it but I've switched to cricket and flashed it with cricket firmware and now it won't work in vista
Ok, I have a new K1 and I am running the live update for 4.04 version of Mobile Phone Tools and it freezes during install. So I cannot connect my phone and the 4.04 version seems to wreaking havoc on my computer. I am running Xp. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks for your help!
Since nobody has just posted the link to the Motorola site, here is where I just downloaded the drivers and got them working in Vista-32.
