upload ringtones that you create to your fone either by usb cable, bluetooth, or memory card slot

mp3 ringtones in the svdsound folder can be assigned to any person in your contact list

however, in most cases you need to rename the mp3 extension to mid to set the ringtone as default.

this is covered in several threads throughout the kyocera forum, many times I have made the the post

    its really simple

the person you spoke too doesnt know anything

I use the memory card method - take the phone's memory card out, put it in the computer, and it comes up as a little hard drive. Sort of.

On my KX-5, the ringtone folder is SAVEDSND. Not to be confused with MUSIC where you put songs.

My KX-5 takes Mp3 here. No need to rename to MID or IMY (never heard of IMY).

What I do is, open the song I want in Winamp, and find a good 23-second section. Any more than that, your caller will go to voice mail and the song will stop anyway. I then open the song file in Wave Editor (comes with Nero). I crop it down carefully to get it just right, then save as Mp3 (MP3Pro), 96k, 44100k, stereo. A free alternative to Nero's Wave Editor is Audacity; there are others. If you don't own Nero you don't need to pay for something when there are free choices.

Go into the phone's menu, Gallery, Sounds, Saved Sounds. Your new file(s) will be at the top, recently added first. Point at the song, Options, Assign, Contact Ringer, choose the contact. A ringer can be assigned to multiple contacts.

When my boss calls (or the office) Vince McMahon's "No Chance" theme plays. It's great.

Or if you have Virgin Mobile you can rename it to .pmd, but that's only on a KX5B.

Can you explain a little more on how to do that trick for the Slider Sonic KX5B please. When I inserted my memory card in the Card Reader, I could only see the My Music and My Videos folders.

I did not see any other folder. Do you have to create this folder for the ringtones?

Please reply, I need help on this topic. Thanks.

Well, I guess, I will reply to myself.

    Yeah Yeah Yeah...

I found out the harsh reality, the Slider Sonic KX5B from Virgin Mobile does not have the same options as the Slider Remix KX5.

Virgin Mobile went ahead and shut off all options to transfer ringers, wallpapers, and who know what else to the Slider Sonic KX5B.

    Bastards!!!

Unfortunately that is the carrier I have.

    Shoot ===>

Isnt that a great feeling. To know that you will never have to pay for a new ringtone. If you think the excitement will go away, it doesnt...lol Everytime a friend says something about having to pay for them, you can rub it in their face.. And also when someone asks how you got a great ringtone, you tell them its cause your the............haha

Well, some people aren't so lucky seeing that we have the KX5B and are still trying to hack our phones.
