    E-TEN X500 user experience

Can anyone with some user experience with the X500 post some comments on the usability of the device. Not just what the specks say but how is it for one handed operation? Wifi strength, Battery life? Ext. I think there are quite a few people on the board that are sitting on the fence between the X500 and the P3300.

Hi, just bought this phone myself also but have not put down my P990. What GPS software do you use and how do you like it. FYI, my phone comes with route 66 (kinda like a package price) and suppose to cover both Canada and US maps. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Frank

I used to own a X500 for the last 2 month, my gps work only the first day I got it after that all it did was searching for satellite. Use almost every satellite program to tweak it, but still did not work. Brought the P3300, had it for a week, and love it. It actually smaller than the X500 and it included TomTom with 1 free map which is all I need. I have heard the P3300 processor is slow to run program, but so far everything work great.

Wrote some GPS software with this phone as platform. GPS performs so-so... In order to get decent accuracy, I had to restart the NMEA stream reader when it detected you were walking.

The rest of the phone and especially battery life... Great. Getting one for personal use in a few days. Hopefully they will update to a newer AKU or even WM6 on this device. If not, I smell a homebrew opportunity..
