I doubt it — it's not a BB5 phone, so it most likely doesn't support USB flashing.

It does NOT support USB flashing. you need the Rj45 cables to flash nokias.

Nokia support said to get the newest firmware it has to be sent in for service, Total turn around time is about 7 to 10 days.

I asked about the Advanced replacement and was told they are not longer doing that.

Whoa those are some serious turnaround times. Flashing firmware only takes 1 hour max here in Singapore

There used to be service centers that could flash Nokia phones, but it seems that now the only options are third-party services like iunlock.com or Nokia itself, so the turnaround time includes shipping to the only Nokia location that performs the service

Lucky for me I live in a small country .

They do have a separate queue for "premium" handset (i.e. 8800 series, communicators) users so the usual waiting time of over an hour is reduced to 5 minutes max. Great service by Nokia I must say.

To those who have upgraded to 4.17: Do you notice that your idle screen clock is now fixed on the centre of the screen instead of moving about every minute or so?

My screen now has burn ins because of this.

Does anyone have any issues with the phone rebooting when you switch batteries? Everytime I swap out a battery, the phone asks me to set the time and date again..is that normal? I have 4.16..My battery indicator also doesn't seem to deplete.

Would sending in the Nokia 8801 for update to Nokia cost any money to flash to latest Firmware? I have had my 8801 since Fall 2006 and it has

    V 03.78
    17-10-05
    RM-33

I'm planning on ebaying it. Perhaps this is not worth the hassle?
