No more cancellations, they are waiting to get clarification from their legal department.
Are you saying they updated the CS script on this issue, or that is just the random baloney a single confused CSR told you? I'm not saying you are wrong, because that would make sense, just wanting to clarify here.
With Cingular CS it is usually wise to call back several times to find out what is consistent policy versus what is random noise generation. Even consistent policy is not applied consistently, but it ups the odds considerably.

Hmm, this wasn't posted yet when I first started replying. It was a different supervisor each time?

They didn't sound the same so I'd say they were different. Edit: Second time I was told that even if it was possible to cancel I couldn't do so until after 1/21/07 when the change takes since that is what is stated in the contract.

That's an interesting date thing. I wonder if the second supervisor was just winging that. Wouldn't be the first time.
I would keep an eye on the situation, because you don't want your 30 days from notice to expire.
Good luck.

Reason: correct to 30 days notice, thanks Aurora

I would keep an eye on the situation, because you don't want your 60 days from notice to expire.
Good luck.
It's only 30 days.
Read the contract carefully. Cingular will do everything it can to keep you bound to the contract; if you plan on getting out, make sure to dot your i's and cross your t's.
Glad to see you have a grandfathered plan but to be honest you have to compare Cingulars lowest plan with any new plan from another carrier.
Then add the data charges!
I dont have a grandfathered plan. I have an 8125 with 450 minutes for 39.99, and mediamax 1000 for 29.99 so thats 70 dollars, plus a fan discount which is 62 before taxes. I saw the voice and data I wanted at sprint for 55 total, no discount so I would save a little money and to be honest, cingular CS is pathetic and more store reps at Cingy than any other company know nothing about their own products.

The lady told me that I could port my number to another carrier and since it would charge my ETF she would refund on it tuesday. She swore up and down for Tuesday, asked for 2 contact numbers so she could reach me etc. She was to nice about it, way to accepting when she said she found the terms and conditions to lie to me. If she did she would reap the whirlwind. I will absolutely raise a hellstorm with executives not because I want out of the ETF but because I was told I could have it waived and something happened so it wasn't. I'll be watching and waiting for her call obviously but I'll take her at her word as I have zero reason not too.
I wonder if you've read the contract, despite the fact that you're a Cingular employee. Let's look at the contract to help clarify the point you raise in your post, 'eh?
Therefore, even if someone (for whatever reason) wanted to get out of the contract because Cingular decreased the price of their plans, they wouldn't be able to. The contract specifically states that if the price of a service you subscribe to INCREASES, a customer may request the contract be terminated.
No, until stated otherwise as a change in policy I will not give up. I do value my job and will not violate policy for you.
How about a little history lesson? In 2001, there was NO free Mobile to Mobile calling, subscribers picked 2 of 3 features (Nationwide Long Distance, Rollover, or Nights & Weekends) unlike getting all 3 at n/c with today's calling plans. Was that a violation of terms & conditions to offer those features??? Last time I checked on any account that has text ppu there is no tag line stating that it is $.10/msg for eternity.
I doubt you and I will ever agree on this matter but that is OK, I don't really care either way. Best of luck anyhow. Let's leave this up to the lawyers to fight it out but nobody on this forum will be the one to decide utimately. I will agree with all those who oppose the change but it is not and was not my decision.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

i do apologize for not searching...i went over to sprint threads and found that sero is now open to everyone, which is very nice. 30 bucks for 500 min, unl nite/wknd, unlimited data. even with 10 dollars for 1000 msg, thats about half my cingy bill. Think im jumping over to sprint.
