TOTALLY. I usually put it in the waistband of my boxers, dammit!
I also get mail on it faster than the computer (BES) and i prefer checking mail on it!

And yes, I've definitely experienced Phantom Vibration Syndrome myself, along with its opposite number... failing to notice the vibration when I actually DO get a call or a message!

As for the rest of the things on this thread... I'm guilty of many of them, and just haven't had time to reply to them. But I'll go through the thread and make my other replies... soonish.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that gets this. I thought I was crazy!

    Guilty as charged!

I did that just this past Wednesday, when I was walking around a mall with friend! This smoking hot chick in a Bebe jogging suit went by us once while we were standing in front of the entrance to the mall (my friend was smoking... Maryland's a "no smoking in any workplace" state, which of course includes shopping malls), then again a little while later inside the mall. The second time she went by, she had her phone out... a Sidekick 3!
--You open your cell bill and actually think it's reasonable.
--You have chargers strategically positioned at work, by your bed, by your TV, and one backup in your pocket or backpack and one in your car.
Guilty of both, although I'm not QUITE that bad on the second one. I have one charger in my room, USB syncing/charging cable plugged into my PC all the time, car charger in my car, and a folding prong travel charger in my bag that I take to work.

Pfff... that's not the way a REAL man does it! You have 2 hands for a reason... one to work the zipper and control your "equipment", and the other to use the BlackBerry!

Exactly my point, per the above statement!

To you and all the rest that use their BlackBerry while driving, I can only say WHAT THE FRAK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL SOMEONE?!?!?!

This is the one place I draw a line in regards to my CrackBerry addiction. The ONLY time I'll pull out my BlackBerry in the car is if I'm STOPPED at a red light that's JUST turned red, giving me a few seconds to look at whatever new email came in. Otherwise, I don't touch it. Texting/emailing while driving causes just as many accidents as drunk driving! JUST DON'T DO IT!

If you're ever in MD doing that crap, and happen to be on the road in the same vicinity as me, you better hope you don't hit me! 'Cause if you do, you're in for a WORLD of hurt once I get my hands on you!

Again, I draw the line at any use of the BB that might threaten my life or the lives of others. There's CrackBerry addiction, and then there's just plain STUPIDITY! Texting/emailing while driving falls into the LATTER category!

Too true, too true! This is why I'm looking forward to T-Mobile's introduction of HSDPA/UMTS later this year! The ability to use the phone AND data AT THE SAME TIME will ROCK!!!

    Lightbulb Another one...

Hey everyone, I just realized yet another sign that you're a CrackBerry addict!

Some of us have admitted to suffering from Phantom Ring Syndrome and/or Phantom Vibration Syndrome. Well, I've just identified a 3rd malady along the same lines, and I'm going to coin the term now: Phantom Status Light Syndrome!

Imagine, for a moment, that you're sitting somewhere... home, work, car... and you're not looking directly at your BlackBerry. Then, out of the corner of your eye, in your peripheral vision, you see the status light on your 8700 (or your 8100 or 8800, for that matter) blink. And you just KNOW it was RED! There's no doubt in your mind! You've got a new message!

Excited at the prospect of your new message, you reach for your phone. But when you pick up your beloved CrackBerry, there are no new message alerts showing on the screen. Looking directly at the culprit (i.e. the status light) now, you see that it is blinking away in the usual GREEN (or BLUE if you have your Bluetooth accessory connected to your BB), rather than the red you were expecting.

This, folks, is Phantom Status Light Syndrome... another cruel hoax played on you by the same region of your brain that tells you your BlackBerry is vibrating when it's not. And I'm sad to say that I've been suffering from this condition more and more lately.
