Thanks for the info. I called the porting department, cancelled my pre activated sprint
phone number, & ported my old nextel number to my tre0 700wx. The porting process took about 2.5 hours, but it was well worth it.
Did you pick the $30 Sero plan? If so did you also get a phone discount?
Yes, I switched to the $30 SERO plan. Also I added 1000 text and kept my TEP, so my bill is $46/month now. He wouldn't budge too much on the text for cheaper and I didn't want to push my good fortunes.
I didn't get a new phone with it, as the T650 is the greatest thing since sliced bread, so I don't know if I would have received a discount. I was offered a new phone, but only if I added a new line.
I signed up for SERO and checked the "port my number" box when filling out my info. I received my "Your Order is now Shipping!" email, but in the email it says "We have activated your wireless device with the Sprint Employee Referral Offer 1250 plan you selected and the following mobile number (xxx) xxx-xxxx."
Problem is, the x'd out number isn't my current number, it's a completely new number. Now, reading what I've quoted above, am I to assume that the new number is on there only because they had to activate the phone, and that by the time it gets to me (or shortly thereafter) my current number will replace the new number on there?
I've only owned one cell phone before and have never changed carriers, so I don't know how this stuff works. This forum's been unbelievably helpful thus far, and I tried to put off asking a stupid question for a while, but $325's a lot of money to be spending on a product and I just want to make sure I'm getting what I thought I was getting. Thanks!
Just call the porting resolution center. THat should be your temporary number. You might also need your old account number ready just in case.
Trying to figure out if the father in law should convert to SERO.
His current family plan is as thus:
600 Anytime Minutes(no night weekends). 49.99
PCS vision Premium Pack 15.00 (not sure why he has this on a VI660)
Nationwide Volume Program Discount -16.25 (25%)
out of contract.
180 Anytime Minutes, 500 Night & Weekend Minutes, First Incoming Minutes Free 29.99
Nationwide Volume Program Discount -7.50 (25%)
contract ends august 2007.
What would happen to line 2 if line 1 was ported to a SERO plan. Would it still continue? I know some have kept the discounts. Would i be able to talk a CS into converting line 1 into a SERO plan and they would miss the discount part?
Whats some of the experienced hands views? What would be the best bet?
i also signed up over the phone also and got the samsung A640 with 49.99 mail in rebate. But the CS rep told to to contact sprint back for the unlimited web use and free nights starting at 7pm witht the 500 min plan.
