Does anyone know how long after canceling my current Sprint account I should wait before signing up for SERO?
Here are some details...
I am out of contract on Feb. 2, 2006
I am currently only allowed 2 lines and I have a $250 ASL.
Because of ESN swaps, I am not eligible for "Phone Upgrade"
So my plan is... Feb 2. port my Sprint number to Cricket temporarily and use their service until I can sign up for SERO. So... how long should I wait after canceling before re-signing up?
I received Treo 700wx yesterday (Friday) and I ordered it Thursday through Sero online. So far I love the service and the Treo. Ported my # over from Nextel w/ no headaches. Added insurance and text messaging also to my plan w/ o problems also. Now all I need is accessories and some good software and Im good 2 go.
Porting Nextel # to an already activated Treo 700wx?
Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanakuh to all.
I have a quick question. I have Nextel and I just received a pre activated treo
700wx under the great SERO plan, I originally wanted them to port the nextel number over to the treo, but customer service said they couldn't do it. I want to cancel my nextel service and port that # over to the treo. Can I do this over the phone without having to send the treo back and waiting for Inphonic to send
a treo with the ported number? Thank You
You should be able to do. That's why most phones that were ported over to have temporary numbers because they've already been pre-activated. In fact, that's the same thing I did a while ago. Why don't you try calling the porting resolution center.

I'm sorry. I've been searching and I haven't been able to find the answer to this question yet.
I have two lines on a Sprint account that have been out of contract for over a year now.
What is the best way to get SERO plans and keep my current Sprint numbers? I hear that it is not possible. Should I go to the store and tell them about SERO and try to set the plan up there?
How about if I want to keep the numbers, get the SERO plan, but sign up under someone elses name? is that possible?
Thank you and sorry if these questions have been answered before. I just can't seem to find the answer to these within all these SERO threads and posts.
I've had a lot of success switching my plans to SERO by calling customer care. Granted, lots of reps don't know what you're talking about, there are others who do. If one rep can't do it, call again until you get a rep that can. I suggest that since you're out of contract, make sure to get a new phone first, because once you switch plans, that's going to put you in contract for two years anyway.
Ok so I'm looking to switch over to Sprint but I need some advice.
I am looking to get an A900M off Sprint.com for 29.99$ (300$ savings until end of the month) and use the 50$ invoice credit code RWC50. When I log into the rebate center it also says I'm eligible for a 75.00$ credit but this doesn't appear anywhere in my cart when I go to order. Anyhow I'm looking to do all this and port my Nextel number over to my new Sprint account. After everything I'd like to get the SERO 1250 plan with insurance and take advantage of my 15% corp discount.
Does all of this sound possible?
Like I said the 75.00 credit doesn't appear in my cart when I go to order so that's probably one phone call right there. Can I have the account flagged for the discount before I order?
Is SERO really available to everyone right now? Should I expect any special treatment since I'll be porting over an 8yr old Nextel account? What are the chances they'll offer me SERO? What are the chances they'll offer me more like the member earlier who got TEF for 3$ and 1000SMS for 5$..?
I think this is all going to come down to the order in which I do everything and who I speak with. What do you guys think? tia
SERO 1250 6PM N&W (FREE) / Unl Data / Unl SMS / Unl Pic & Vid Mail
15% Corp Discount
Hopefully you guys can help me out. I am a current nextel customer with no contract and fed up with no service. My billing month ends on the 20th of the month. Can i switch to sprint mid month because i know that the two companies are not really all that merged. Also when i check the sero offer online it says text messages are 500 for $10 and it doesnt give me the option to get a few other things like the insurance for the phone, can i still get those things?
help is greatly appreciated,
julian
can someone confirm or deny when the sero offer is over?
Thanks zad. I was wondering how I would go about getting the new phones with the new plan prices?
thanks again, sam.
Through retentions is the best way. Call customer service and tell Claire that you want to cancel your lines, and then you'll be redirected to retentions. Tell them that you want to cancel your lines because you're looking to replace your phones, then, they'll make you an offer just to retain you (especially you've been good by paying all your bills in a timely manner). If you have a particular phone in mind, tell them, and they'll give you an offer. Be very polite but if you think you can get a better deal, just tell them that you'll think about it, and call again, so you might get a better deal. Good luck!!!

Yes, you can switch in the middle of the month. They'll send you a refund check for any unused minutes/days. You can call customer care later on to add insurance as long as its within 30 days.
When I signed up for the SERO plan, it said unlimited text messaging (AOL and MSN.) However, now that I have service, I have to pay $2.99 per month for the IM software download. I understand that the IM service will be unlimited by virtue of the unlimited Vision, but is there any way around paying the $2.99 per month for the software? If not, I think promoting the plan has having "unlimited IM" is a bit misleading.

I signed up for SERO and checked the "port my number" box when filling out my info. I received my "Your Order is now Shipping!" email, but in the email it says "We have activated your wireless device with the Sprint Employee Referral Offer 1250 plan you selected and the following mobile number (xxx) xxx-xxxx."
Problem is, the x'd out number isn't my current number, it's a completely new number. Now, reading what I've quoted above, am I to assume that the new number is on there only because they had to activate the phone, and that by the time it gets to me (or shortly thereafter) my current number will replace the new number on there?
I've only owned one cell phone before and have never changed carriers, so I don't know how this stuff works. This forum's been unbelievably helpful thus far, and I tried to put off asking a stupid question for a while, but $325's a lot of money to be spending on a product and I just want to make sure I'm getting what I thought I was getting. Thanks!
