Darn, no Motorola Q on the SERO site at the moment. It's probably selling very well. I am also stuck in the endless debate of 700wx/p vs. Q, but the Q is $100 cheaper, so I'm not sure what I'll do (not asking for opinions - there are enough on Google). So, this will give me some time to think.

It is national... there seems to be a glitch... but you can sign in with another zip, then change it when you order... everything goes fine. Couple of people have done this.

I would not let a little thing like zip codes keep me from the best mobile phone deal on the planet (right now, as I type anyway).

unlimited data.. 500 minutes... tether with laptop (pdanet), free data and voice roam on verizon, etc, etc.... really.

    $27 after credit union discount....

Is it possible to get the credit union discount on top of SERO?

Do you get the SERO plan (actually two plans - two lines) and then call the number for employer (and credit) union discounts? Is it just granted or do you have to "struggle" for it?

It is possible, I did it. I'm not one to get a lot either... For example, I was denied the 500 free txt msg deal everyone else seems to be getting. lol.

Actually, it was rather odd... I followed the instructions on the site and called. The guy NEVER asked for anything saying I was a credit union member. He never even asked if I was a member of a credit union.

I've been a member of a credit union since the early 90's... maybe they saw it in my credit check or something, I don't know.

    http://forums.slickdeals.net/forumdi...p?sduid=0&f=30

visit the link above and look for the thread "SERO.... II" . In the FIRST post, it provides the links for the credit union discounts.

Seems sprint has two... one credit union member and one employee. I'm a member, so 10% discount. The employee discount I don't know how much that is.

No, you aren't supposed to be able to get a corporate discount on top of a SERO plan....if you do you are lucky....if your account gets audited it will be taken away from you.

I had a corporate discount on my SERO plan and it was taken away when my account got audited (I wasn't getting my referral rewards so they opened a ticket and also reviewed my account).....

The more you ask for stuff the more they notate your account....so don't be too greedy.

Sounds like you really abused the system... one of those PITA customers.

You do make a valid point, emailing and calling every week will only get your account audited. Being a PITA customer will cause sprint to note your account -- well sprint or verizon or ATT.

Everything is hit n miss with sprint... some people are getting this, and some getting that. For me, I'm done. I don't need to ever call them for anthing... I tried three times for the txt msg and it would not go, so I figure I don't need it.

I'll drift off into the millions of other customers and pay my bill every month... early.

edit: is the member credit union discount a corporate discount? Seems I've always heard the corporate discount spoken in terms of someone working for a certain company. I'm just a member of the credit union. Dunno.... I do know when the guy noted my account, he said, "You are on SERO. How do you like that?" He further went on to ask what cell phone company I was with before and why I switched.

does anyone know when brendan007 will stop asking the same dumb-azz question... already answered multiple times in this thread?

    As answered before:

"It is national... there seems to be a glitch... but you can sign in with another zip, then change it when you order... everything goes fine. Couple of people have done this."

and here (if the zip change does not work):

27: HELP! IT SAYS SERO IS NOT AVAILABLE IN MY AREA, NOW WHAT DO I DO?
Unfortunately, SERO is not available in all areas (it appears this has to do with affiliate services. So even if Sprint has good service in your area, it does not mean that SERO is available there). If you are located somewhere where you know Sprint has good service, you can get around this limitation by using a different address. When you do that though, you will be limited to the area code of the address that you select. Some people have successfully asked Sprint for a new phone number in their own area code after receiving the phone, saying they have moved.

Dealseeker (TY) addresses this problem as follows:

Yup, you are in an affiliate area. My guess would be iPCS, but that I'm not sure of.

A good way to tell is just go to www.sprint.com

Put in your zip code - it is telling you to check out the store for offers

Try putting in 55403, you'll see Sprint plans.

It is telling you to go to the store since the affiliate plans are different than the standard sprint plans.

Your best bet for getting SERO is to locate an address you can use for sign up in a sprint corporate area....Affiliate determination is tied to the telephone number, not the billing address. So once you sign up, you could switch your billing address to your home address, but your cell number would have to stay in a sprint corporate market....not sure how long distance works in your area, but that may be a solution to your problem.

    Hello again all!

i got my ppc6700, but not from inphonic! i went to the store and purchased the phone, and called up and had it switched to sero 1250.

    i've been happier ever since!

Inphonic would not place my order because i was a sprint customer from the past, and my account was still in the system. They had no problem taking my money, but took FOREVER to return it to me.

So, I promised to let everybody know how my order was going with Imphonic, and I'm rather upset with them right now. I know when I ordered the phone I selected the box to port my number, but they shipped it out and assigned me a new phone number. I know I selected the box, b/c I remember calling verizon to get my account number, and typing it in.

So now Imphonic is telling me that I have to ship the phone back, and they will send me a new phone with the ported number. Im afraid that Imphonic will charge me for violations of their terms and conditions, so I dont want to port it myself, unless I can get a rep to confirm that that wont cause them to charge me.

Plus, it took them 5 days to send my phone out, which I thought was kind of slow. I guess if they dont confirm that they wont charge me, Ill tell the Fedex/ups guy that I'm not singing for the package, and make them send me a different phone, with my ported number.

Plus, to get the rebate on the Q, it must be purchased by the 17th, since my phone doesnt arrive on the 17th, I will lose out on that rebate.

http://forums.slickdeals.net/forumdi...p?sduid=0&f=30 (look for SERO II -- first post in the thread it provides a Q and A....)

I wish someone here would organize the frontpage like at slickdeals....

This is what is said about porting:

22: HOW DO I PORT MY NUMBER?
If you are currently with another subscriber (not Sprint), porting is easy. Just do not rely on inPhonics to do it. Just order your phone through inPhonics, and once you get your phone dial *2 and ask for "Tier 2 Porting Support". They should be able to port your number immediately. Do NOT cancel your other subscriber's account until your number is ported (also make sure you are out of contract or you will be charged an early termination fee). If you are already with Sprint, it is much harder to port (refer to post #1, point #6 "If I already am a Sprint customer"). You can port a number at any time, as long as you have current ownership of the number you want to port.

hey guys, i know we are not suppose to be doing any more talking about the whole "sero" thing, but ive been waiting since last august. When you go to the sprint.com/sero website it asks you an email addy and a zip code, well i have an email addy but my zip code, 49546, does not work. OMG how long does it take for them to come around. It works with a zip code which is about 40 minutes away but you have to have a different area code. just wondering if they plan on expanding or are they done. sorry to upset anybody to keep talking about this, but ive just been waiting a really long time. thanks..
