Yes you are correct, unless you call and work something out you will be billed $250 ETF (Equipment termination fee) and they can charge you full retail on the phone. If you are canceling service as well then Sprint can tag you with a $200 ETF also.
I wasn't there when you signed up, but I would say that you did sign a third party contract with Inphonics electronically.

You might be able to find someone who will want your account/phone. You might be able to do a transfer of liability. That will clear you with Sprint, but I don't know what Inphonic will do with that.

    Under my plan it says:

    Unlimited Vision Access

Should it say Unlimited Power Vision Access Instead?

    Thanks.

Hi - I have a couple of questions about SERO and the phones. I'm another Amp'd refugee and am thinking of getting a SERO plan, with my oldest son as an authorized user. After he is 18 next year he can take over the account.

First, I'm considering the Samsung M500, the LG LX150, the LG Fusic, and the RAZR V3m.

I'm a little confused about the tethering issue. All 4 of these phones mention in the features list the words "use as a modem," implying that tethering is OK. But I've been getting the impression here and on the SlickDeals SERO forum that you're not really supposed to tether. Can anyone clear that up?

The feature list on the M500 and the LX150 say they can be used as a modem with either a USB cable or Bluetooth. The Fusic and the RAZR seem to be Bluetooth only. Is that right? Is Bluetooth better than USB cable? (I'm still trying to determine whether his 2y.o. Gateway laptop will even support Bluetooth.)

Also, any opinions on these 4 phones -- reception, useability, durability - are welcome. He doesn't need a Q.

    Thanks very much.
I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.

PAM- That allow's authorized tethering will not work with SERO, but if you get a 6700 or A900 that you can Hack you can fly under the radar and tether as long as you only browsing and sending e-mails with less then a gig attachements you should be good..

As far as Phone...of the once you mention the Fusic is the best for reception, I havent used the M500 or the LX150, I just know the fusic cannot be beat, but also i would say that if you're not planning to use all of what comes with the fusic dont waste you time, that phone has alot of features and is considerd along with the M1 and Upstage to be the "Grand-Daddy" of the Multimedia Phones, if you looking for a phone with basic strong RF for youself and you plan to use a limit amount of media or data, I would strongly consider the 8400 or M500.....

What ever you do.....DO NOT GET A RAZR.....The Laggy-ness of the Phone will have you pulling your hair out.

Mmm, I don't see the 8400, the 6700 or the A900 listed on the SERO page.

I'd say that yes, basic strong RF is the most important criteria right now, with (most likely) limited media & data usage, Since he doesn't text and already has a separate MP3 player, the Fusic isn't really necessary. On the other hand, it's only $10 on SERO, and if it has better reception than the M500....

If its for your son the Fusic could be ok...keep in mind that 10$ price is after 100$ mail-in I think so you will need to put more $$$ down....The 8400 is still available, Sprint has transisitioned into this new all inclusive website and forgot to add some of its CDMA phone, you can view the 8400 and M1 on phonescoop.com under Sprint.

No the Fusic actually is $9.99 on SERO with no rebates. If you buy from Sprint.com then it is $90 with a $80 rebate.

Thanks for the help. I went to the whereismyorder.com page and logged in with my account information, and this is what I found under "Terms and Conditions": http://shard43.googlepages.com/serotermsandconditions

I saw this page and that's how I knew where to go, but my contract doesn't seem to have the 181-day clause. Where would I find that clause?

Is there any other contract that one would sign with Inphonic? If so, how would I access that?
CDMA - a great technology, hobbled by greedy carriers and a closed business model. Its a pity, really.

So if you call to order a SERO plan with the Fusic, it's $90 with $80 instant rebate = up front cost $10? That would be good. I'm looking to do this with least possible up front cost.

    Actually the Fusic is $279 - $269 instant= $10 upfront

well let me tell you my experiences, had to call three times, first time got dc. second time got someone who decided to run credit check even if i already had an account, it was rejected because i did not need a new credit check and the computer rejected the order. Call third time got an outstanding person, just added the q sero to my existing account and gave me the Q for free, because of the screw up by the other guy, I am one happy Sprint person now

So i have a porting question. Some nice lady signed me up for sprint even though its not available in my area. She used my work zip, which is also another area code not of my home location. Now i can port my current cell number in my current area code when i get the phone in the mail but she said that it might not work since sero doesnt work in my zip. Will it be an issue to port my number from this area where sprint sero isnt really allowed?]

    thankssss

It most probably won't work if the number you want to port is tied to a Sprint affiliate area, from what I understand they can't because it's against the fcc reg's or something of the sort.

A few people (very few) have been able to do it from what I've seen, but it is ymmv just like getting Sprint numbers ported to Sero which is hard to do to but a lot easier than your scenario.
