Yes. that was missing from the guide...Originally Posted by Thorgs
The Monster1.htm guide told you to use your backup RTT Browser file... BUT your backup made while under the Verizon firmware will NOT contain that session.... If you use the SAMPLE RTT 1x-Browser configuration file in section 3, step 3, you will have it... but you'd also have to edit that sample before writing to your phone...
The steps to manually create that VZW_MMS session are now part of the guide... See the GREEN ITALICS text in section 4.
If you don't see it... refresh the page in your web browser...

Just a note regarding web sessions. The files linked in the Free WAP sticky thread contain all the needed sessions preconfigured as does the link in my Bell MMS tutorial found in the How To section of Mark's pages.
This is exactly why I created those files to be a universal solution for WAP access.![]()

I've never used Drag/drop with P2KCommander...Originally Posted by Thorgs

While using P2KCommander, do not use any other programs, let the P2KCommander window have "focus" and be the currently active window/program. Do NOT put it to the background.
With P2KCommander and its pre-req's running.
In the right hand pane's drop down box, select P2KMOBILE PHONE.
In the FILE NAME colum, you will see the "A" Folder. Double click on that. That begins navigating the file system. Navigate to the folder on the phone where you want to place the new file.
If you don't see it, or can't get to that path in the phone's file system, and you know its not an EMPTY folder... try hitting the RE-READ button up next the box where P2KMOBILE PHONE is filled in...
From the left hand pane's drop down box and file list, navigate to your PC's folder where your file is.
Select the PC File in the right hand pane. Right Click on it, and choose copy. That will copy the file from the PC onto the Phone location displayed on the right.
I'm now having issues getting *228 to work. the phone stays in Extended network everywhere I go. I drove to known network areas and it was still in EN. Is there a way to manually program the phone?
The message I get is "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect. please check the number and try again. message 391 7"

Thanks, I think the last part is backwards though. I think I have to click on the file in the right hand pane then click on the one I want to replace it with in the laft hand pane. Then in the left hand pane click "copy" and it says, Uploading Left to Right. I'll see if this allows me to use GIN.Originally Posted by Mark_Venture

Oh well.
I can't send pix msgs either. Just regular txt msgs.
Try doing a browser reset and then reloading the web session from the Free WAP sticky and trying either the freebie or Google sessions. This is to verify that you have a functioning web session with functioning data services on your account. None of the data services will work without a properly configured web session.
My symptoms:
MMS stuck at 0%
GIN catalog error 554
WAP error Authentication failed
Thanks kbman, but it didnt work. I guess I'll keep fooling around with it until I can get it working.
Or the one from your Bell E815 MMS tutorial ?? -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/Files/Bel...MS/VZW_MMS.rtbOriginally Posted by kbman
Try to change your setting in settings>security>data>service type -AUTOOriginally Posted by Thorgs
that might fix your WAP
As for MMS and GIN, call CS and tell them its not working and they should reset your services. That should make it work.
yea, i'd cut back on that
MOTOKRZR K1m
Thanks for the CS heads up. As for the settings>security>data>service type...I only have 1XRTT to pick from.Originally Posted by JakeE
hmm... Maybe it a KRZR only thing. I am using a KRZR and changing that setting made WAP work. I guess it doesnt apply to the V3m
We could also try the manual Akey fix if you have a backup copy of either 01d2 or cdma_sec from when you had everything working on the VZW f/w. So far this has only worked for me though and the CS reset is still the most failsafe method to regain data services.
I would do this, but I do not want to lose EVDO. kbman, will your method restore EVDO function? I have a V3m unused, never activated, I would like to get on the Alltel firmware.
It's possible but, as I said, I don't have either of these newer phones and jlbrightbill couldn't make it work on his V3m. I haven't had the opportunity to discuss in detail what steps he followed and try again.
The best way would be to activate it on your account and verify everything works and then back it up and use those values to overwrite with after flashing.
I would love to have the chance to investigate this issue in detail with jlbrightbill before I advocate others to try it. We have all the stock flash files now to recover with in most if not all circumstances so it's relatively safe just unproven.
