Can anyone tell me How i can download my own songs into my phone and use them as ringtunes.

i use bluetooth. just buy a bluetooth dongle thingy and use that. it's fast and easy.

sorry but iam not sure what you mean about bluetooth.my phone came with a usb cable to down load music onto my phone but that will not let me use them as ringtunes.

do you have fido as your carrier? i read that you can not download music to use as ringtones. but ya mine came with the wire and stuff too but i prefer to use the bluetooth.

yes i have fido.Now with this bluetooth that make you use your own ringtones

yeah....sorry darlin, but I don't think you can upload your own mp3 ringtones with the se z710i on fido. I have the same thing, and I tried desperatly for a bit, and I'm still trying but I've eased up slightly and accepted the ghetto way of recording the mp3 with my phone and then setting it as my ringtone. ;_; some people have been able to get it, but god knows how.

i think you need to unlock the phone in order to get rid of those restrictions or whatever it's called.

btw bluetooth is what i use to send the mp3 from computer to phone.

I have the z710i and am on Fido. Fido doesn't let you use MP3 songs as Ringtones. To do it, you have to debrand your phone (replace the limited Fido software with generic software). I used http://www.wotanserver.com and had great results. I even changed the software to w710i and got the Walkman player and some different games. Do a search on the topic, there's a few topics floating around dealing with this exact issue.

There are 5 firmware/CID combinations on that page, which one should I choose? The current firmware is R1F001.
Or should I go with the W710i firmware instead (as many seem to have done), which firmware version/CID should I choose?

Finally, is Wotan the recommended option or are there better ones (still free)?
