Coming back to SE after a long break

My last SE was a T68i. I thought to myself back then (this phone could be something if it wasnt for the poor reception.)
I had a N80 and really liked it, but sold it because I have the same problem as most on HOFO. Now I have a T-Mobile Dash and dislike windows mobile (being nice here). So this morning I did what any phone junkie like myself would do and impulse purchased a k790a from mobile city.

I hear from reviews and this forum that reception in the SE line is greatly improved since the day of the t68i. I should recieve it tomorrow and will let you know what my first impressions are coming from a s60v3 and wm 5.0 devices. I have a feeling I will enjoy it.

I came to SE after a loooooooong time with nothing but Motorolas...except for a Nokia that I used briefly. No phone is perfect, but the Sony Ericsson UI is worlds more intuitive and sophisticated than anything I have used in the past, and built quality is higher as well. Everytime I play with my k790a, I find something I never knew the phone could do until then. Very cool. Kinda like getting a Christmas present every day!

it's been almost 2 years after T637.....I put it aside because it doesn't support EDGE
now Z710i works pretty well with T-Mobile

    not problems with the n80

But my problem with always wanting something new or different. Thats the problem I think many HOFO'ers have.
At least people tell me its a problem.

    So it came today!!!

    k790a from mobilecity.com
mobilecity shipped as promised. Phone arrived new in box with everything.

Phone works great, SE has really polished things since the t68i.
Within an hour: imap idle set up and working as fast as ms direct push,
isync setup using mroach's isync plugin, (thank you mroach),
Made some calls and it sounded great.
    Customized shortcuts
    Setup rss feeds
    Sent some emails

All in all I would say the build quality is equal or slightly better than my n80. The bluetooth is crazy fast and flawless with os x.
The ui is very well polished, I liked the s60v3 browser on my n80 better but most of my mobile online use is either rss, email, or google mobile which the 790 does well.

I like it so many ways better than the dash that I wont go there. The dash was more than i needed, for someone else it may be exactly what they need.

Thanks for all the useful information i found in this forum.
