    Exclamation V635 Problems...

    Hey guys,

I tried to fix it on my own. I tried to figure this problem out by myself, but I need your HELP!

This is the story; I bought a V635 phone from some guy off a small ad I saw on one of those free ad sites. There was one simple problem that I figured out quite easily.

The bad part: when I closed it back up, for some reason, the buttons weren't working! Everytime I would press something, it would go to the phonebook and sometimes even dial the first number on its own!

A friend of mine that works at a cell phone shop told me it has to be the flex cable. So, I did some tweaking and everytime I'd hold it up in some way - the phone would work. That was when the phone was open and loose. That same friend told me the flex cable is busted.

So, I decided to shop around and finally, I found one. 50$. That's quite expensive. But I figured I'd have a good phone that'll last me a while. I purchased the piece and this morning I put all together.

It doesn't work. Whatever I press, it goes to the phonebook. But at least it's not dialing out. What the hell did I do wrong? Did I foget to do something when I put it back together? Do I have to press some sort of reset button I don't see?

Please help out... I'm out of options here.

It would definately NOT be the flex cable at all. If there were a problem with the flex cable, you would know because your screen would turn off randomly or just shut down completely. Can you elaborate on what the problem was that it had and what you had to do to fix it?

I don't even know the 635, but it looks a lot like the V710, which has a seperate flex for the keypad. So, a bad keypad flex would have nothing to do with the screen.

    Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure it's the flex cable.

When I hold it a certain way (extending the flex cable to it's limits or just applying pressure on it.) and that I hold the many layers of flex cable together, it seems to work just fine.

Sometimes when I move it too much, the thing does shut off, or reset itself.

I've thought about it being the keypad. It would make sense if it were, but fact of the matter is; when I make it work, the keypad works just fine.

    So what now?
