I just got an aftermarket 8390 faceplate to put on my 6590 because I read that they will fit on it. I tried to put it on but it won't fit! It seems like its too small and the battery cover doesn't fit on right. Could someone tell me if there's any way to get it on right? Thanks.
AT&..... I'm sorry, you faded out. Could you repeat that?

And vice versa..... I posted before, asking how to put the 6590 faceplate on the 8390 WITHOUT BREAKING IT!!! No one ever responded to my post. When I get my 8390 fixed (after unsucessfully putting on a 6590 cover), I would still like to use the cover....
I performed surgery last night on my 8390 faceplate tabs and the tabs on my 6590 chassis. I used a small sharp Exacto knife. The 8390 cover fits PERFECTLY on my 6590. Yeeeeeeeeah
GNOSIS: I haven't recieved my 6590 yet (brought from a HOFO member) and will be getting it within the next couple of days. I plan to get a couple of 8390 faceplates to put on for some variation. What tabs am I supposed to file on the 8390 faceplate so that it can fit on the 6590? Do you have any pics?
I think I just got a bad back cover for it because I tried on a different back cover and it fits fine. Oh well. Now I have another question... Does anybody know if THIS FACEPLATE will fit the 6590? I want to know for sure before I buy it. Thanks.

it'll but need some modification
FS: MINT 3390 UNLOCKED CHEAP! feel free to PM me for more details
I used a small knife to remove almost half of the INNER portions of the top tabs of the 8390 faceplate. Then remove only about 1/4 of the OUTER portions of the top tabs of the 6590 phone.
The red faceplate has not been modified. The blue one has.
Okay thanks alot! But now I have one last question (I hope). Is this faceplate I posted above all white? (Not ugly pearl white). The middlle part looks darker than the rest in the picture... but I want an all white one.
another way is to simply remove the entire tab from the 8390 faceplate....i've tried few 6590 aftermarkets that doesn't have any tabs..and it fits my 8390...
btw..the white is not 'pure' white..it's more like grayish white, but the translucent part IS white white...the picture from the ebay auction is scanned, so the grayish one looks too white....
here's another pic..maybe it'll give you a better pic on how white (not) the white face is...
anyone else notice a decreased earpiece volume on their 6590 when a 8390 case is being used? For some reason it is somewhat quieter than the oem 6590 case. I love the look, but if the volume isn't loud enough, I can't use it. My only thinking is that it is because the holes on the 8390 are smaller than those on the 6590 but i never had problems with volume with my 8390 with it's right case. tia
