Thanks for the grid, this has been a frustration ever since getting the Blackjack II the other day, along with the fact that ATT has locked up those icons so the can't be moved or deleted. Will see what I can do to make a few wallpapers.
For the person asking about using picture as wallpaper.
Copy pic to phone
View Pic
Hit Menu
Chose Set As
Chose Home Screen
How did you get the black bars? What theme maker are you using?

Has anyone figured out the problem about the quality loss in the picture when you put it as your wallpaper???
Does anyone know if the BJ2 has this same problem?
This is how you fix it.
What the Blackjack does is it takes a snap shot of the image you want to use and degrades the quality, names the new image tdaycust.jpg and places it in the Windows folder.
Someone came up with a solution to this and I tweaked it to my liking. I will use everything I did as an example.
1. Using ActiveSync copy and paste whatever theme you use to your desktop. They are in Application Data/Home on your device. I use SamsungSimple.home
2. Open the file in Word so you can edit the contents
3. Change these two lines:
<title lang="0x0409">Samsung Simple</title>
<title lang="0x0809">Samsung Simple</title>
To this:
<title lang="0x0409">Samsung Simple Green Sky</title>
<title lang="0x0809">Samsung Simple Green Sky</title>
4. Change this line:
<background bgimage="Wave2.jpg" valign="top" bgcolor="COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT" />
To this:
<background bgimage="greensky.jpg" valign="top" bgcolor="COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT" />
5. Change the file name from SamsungSimple.home to SamsungSimpleGreenSky.home
6. Copy SamsungSimpleGreenSky.home and greensky.jpg and paste them back into Application Data/Home
7. On your Blackjack change your theme to Samsung Simple Green Sky and make sure the Background Image is set to Default.
The reason I rename the file Samsung Simple Green Sky is so I can remember which theme it is and which wallpaper it uses.
Just keep making these (Samsung Simple Moon, Samsung Simple Tropical Beach, etc) and pasting the coinciding images along with them, and switch from theme to theme whenever you want to switch to a different and non degraded background image.
Here is what I used:
SamsungSimpleGreenSky.home.xml (Right Click Save As...)
^^^ perfect...
except mine wasnt names samsungsimple.home they were names blackjack1 and 2 and 3 and so on... but the name inside the cml file said Samsung simple..
thanks alot man...
NICELY DONE DUDE! Nicely done!
Thanks for the help, it worked perfectly. Except yeah, I had the same issue as helix did, but I found it.
I had some slowness when I tried saving it. For anyone having that problem, just throw an .xml at the end of the file name. That will make it a file the phone can use.
Thanks again!
another issue i had was i had to use wordpad.. office 2007 hides the XML tags and it was easier to use wordpad than ot go thru the options of the new office format to find how to change that setting..
Thanks for the grid! Also, the theme maker that comes with the phone works good too. Does anyone know how to change the color of the scroll bar from orange to another color?
Could anyone create a home screen, using the pop-up method?
Possibly with a 99-04 mustang?
Thanks
Is there an easier way to get better quality on my home screen for my blackjack II? Lono's idea looks like way to much trouble to go through....
I think that is not exact sizes you used????
update music for samsung g600
You guys are going to love me!
For those of you who found Lono1981's procedures repuired too much tweaking here's the easier way:
First of all, the right resolution really is 320x240, not 320x186 (using my method)
Using Active Sync, look for the wallpapers already included in your phone.
The path should be: My Windows Mobile-Based Device\Application Data\Home
then paste your wallpaper right in and voila! Only thing left is assigning it as the "Background image" through the display settings in your phone.
Now if someone would direct me on how to post pictures in a thread i'd be happy to post custom Wp and step-by-step screenshots (sorry i'm being too lazy to find out for myself).
