Although the metallic flash theme is cool, why aren't there more themes like on the 8500 and 8600? Hopefully it's a sign that downloadable themes are on their way.

I know there were a news release awhile back that a variety of phones were enabled with FlashLite capability (V3m and VX-9800 were among them), but as far as I can tell, these applications are for interactive games and what not as opposed to customizing the interface.Originally Posted by mbaverizon

nice! I was hoping to see this one too before long...
any idea about the testman site? the 99999 zipcode no longer works, anyone has an idea to look at the phone page? thanks
Yeah, 99999 was removed on Friday.Originally Posted by e815newguy
But if you enter in a normal zip, it will still show the full list of phones.
Newest on Testman are the U540 and VX9400.
The VX8700 isn't up yet.
Since the VX9400 is being released next week, my guess is the VX8700 will be out in April.
you know I tried that, but now it shows exactly what it would show on the regular vzw site. I dont see the u620 or the 9400 (MobiTV is not available where I live). But I know I saw them on testman before. I just thought maybe there is another way. But thanks.
Yea i had hoped they would have already released it..to late for me ...i get all i want nowOriginally Posted by mbaverizon
i really like the hinge concept? looks interesting.....
Ha anyone confirmed the sensor for this? CCD(PLEASE) or CMOS? im guessing CMOS.......oh to have the CCD sensor of the 8000 on this baby....price wise i bet they wont though
I've searched this thread but this is the only mention of the vx8700's camera NOT supporting auto-focus. Can anyone else confirm this?Originally Posted by mosherkl
I would say that chances are when something like this is not supported there wouldn't be much mention of it, however, if it was supported, you'd probably see it all over this thread, or at least in quite a few parts.Originally Posted by corronchos

So, I looked at the user guide and could not find any mention of how to operate the speakerphone on the 8700. Then I figured (hoped) that perhaps they don't cover the operation of the speakerphone on the basic online user guide. So, I looked at the 8300's user guide and, sure enough, the speakerphone is listed under basics for the 8300.
Is anyone sure that the 8700 is going to even have a speakerphone? If you go by what the user guide says (or doesn't say) maybe it is not going to have one. After all, if they are going for aesthetics for this model and want a clean exterior and, given the poor performance of the 8600's speakerphone, perhaps they decided not to put a speakerphone on the 8700.
From what I've seen these companies "almost" purposely leave some key feature missing or lacking in performance on each model in order to get us to crave the next model and perhaps this is that feature missing in the 8700??????
Anyone, anyone? Your thoughts, if any?
