You will notice in this pic (gsm) that the 5-way navi pad is square (and the SIM slot on the side):Originally Posted by Interpol

And is this one (cdma) the 5-way navi is round.

Looks like a Memory card slot on the side to me on the gsm one? what makes you think its a sim slot? Ya know the phone looks like something that would be sitting in a jewelry case![]()
1) GMS phones use a SIM slot.Originally Posted by Interpol
2) That protective slot area is a lot bigger than if it was for a MicroSD card access.
Here's a pic of my dog at full resolution.

I'm just here to inform, even if it's myself.
its a stained like silver color, uses a micro sd, has a 2.0 camera. pm for pics
They've changed the style up a bit here and there.
Square directional and modified screen/bumpers.
Looks much better now.
The metal looks like sex.

What does everyone think about the sideways external display?
I'm not sure that I like the idea of having to turn the phone sideways in order to read it.
But I do like the silver metal color, 2MP camera, and QVGA display specs.
I've looked at each pic of the VX8700 and cannot find where the speaker is that would be used for Ringers/Music/Speakerphone.
Can anyone find it?
I also just noticed there's NO FLASH!
Yeah, that kind of sucks--I don't think it's a deal-breaker, at least not for most, but stil not as convenient.Originally Posted by mosherkl
It's possible that the external speaker might be that small "opening" that is present on the side toward the top of the phone above the volume rocker/buttons. I can't really see any other "openings" that would really qualify for an external speaker, unless something different is being used for this phone.Originally Posted by FAUguy
As for the flash, it's true, it seems like there's no flash, but I believe the LG VX8600 and the LG VX8500 don't have it either. Not that it really makes things better for this phone, but that seems to be somewhat of a pattern with these recent/"thinner" phones--no flash, no external stereo speakers, etc.
I zoomed in really close to the black "dot" area above the volume buttons, and the shape of it looks just like a mini-USB port...which the phone does have.Originally Posted by Comrade DM
If this is the case, that it is the mini-USB ports, then the charger port OR MicroSD slot would be under the plastic cover on the bottom-left of the phone.
Another thing...notice how these 2 images of the "real" VX8700 do not look alike?
One of them has round 5-way navi buttons, but the other has square navi buttons.
Also notice the mic placement is different.
