Thanks for the INVALUABLE info @RF9

I been configing a new Treo 750 to run perfect before I wrap it up as a gift for my sister.

PIE runs much faster now & doesn't have that stupid error when trying to download or access certain pages/stuff.

    Shame on Cingular/ATT

you may want to just load Opera Mini on there along with the Java emulator (I used the Risidoro Intent MIDlet Manager 11.1.7.1036). I just started using it about 2 months ago and it is so much faster than IE it's not even funny. Plus there were some sites that IE would not let me log into that Opera Mini does.

I did that already , thanks for the info anyway

Also Opera Mini using IE to download things, which wouldn't be possible without this reg fix.

    Wayne,

My Treo 750 was locked and I got it unlocked and is using it in Jamaica with Cable and Wireless, our local provider. My problem is that I am not able to browse the internet. I have entered our local settings and I am able to connect, but I cannot browse. Was your phone originally locked when it was purchased? The concern I have is this, should I do a hard reset, will the phone return to it's orignal state of being locked to the Cingular network? How do I know for sure that after reseting it, I will not have to get the phone itself unlocked again to use on our local network here in Jamaica?

    Hi,

Yes, when I bought my phone it was locked. I got the phone unlocked and I did all the tricks in this forum so I could browse but they never worked for me. I then decide to hard reset the phone to see what will happen. When the phone booted up the first thing I did was enter the internet settings for our local cell phone company and it worked. We have Cable & Wireless here too and I used their settings and it worked as well. Once a phone is unlocked it can never be locked again, well for sure if you hard reset the phone it won't. Let me know what you get done.

    Wayne,

Thanks a million. I hard reset the phone and it worked. Thanks a lot, because I almost gave away the phone and return to using my blackberry because I was able to figure out how to get it to browse. I am now going to try setting up my email. If I have any problems, I will be calling on you for more help.

    GREAT!!

Well I hope other folks will result into doing it this way than to mess with their Registry. I don't know why they go through all that trouble when a hard reset of the phone takes 2 seconds.

A hard reset did not fix the problem for me. I had to follow RF9 posts & fix the reg.

RF9 - Thanks! I can now access my corporate Outlook web access application from my Q9h. This is great.

Hi. I'm new here and not really a geek so I don't understand all that you're talking about. However, I've been reading this thread and it seems to address my problem. I just got a Treo 750 AT&T Cingular but I got it open line. I bought the cell through eBay USA but I'm using the phone in the Philippines. I have a Treo 600 which I love but it's very slow for internet use and that's why I got the 750. My problem now is I can't connect to the internet. It won't make a connection. I downloaded the two cab files and tried those out but it still doesn't seem to work. My question is: what settings should I have on my connections? Basically, my settings are still what were on the phone when it arrived as I've done a hard reset to erase all the settings I tried out. If someone could help me go through this step by step, I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks so much.
