but hey .... can anyone find out about the dual band roaming on the 902? if it roams 1900 and 800 WOW
I have never heard of a sprint customer having Interference when a nextel is using dc so i would guess it would cause it ..... but then again i can dc and hear the "noise" on any speaker at restaurant or store...lol
According to the FCC filing, it will NOT roam on 800MHz CDMA.
Interestingly enough, it would seem these hybrid phones are also unable to use any of the newer iDEN 900MHz frequencies as well, which they are supposedly opening up for dispatch service as well. It would seem only a true blue iDEN phone could access that spectrum.
The ic902 looks sick...Just checked out the FCC document and seen a pic of it in there..The phone is like a silverish color..Phone looks great people..It will be bought the same day it drops probably....I havent looked through it all..Ill check it and out later and post pics for u guys if not already posted by someone..

why does nexetel/sprint do this stuff? why can't they just at least give us 1 phone that will TRULY take advantage of both networks instead of trying to piece together 1?
i hybrid will work for me BUT its a close call if they would make the phone use sprint side (analog/roaming etc) it would be hands down better coverage! but if i leave this area it appears as if nextel has better coverage

Woah woah woah. Sprint doesn't have any analog coverage nor do they have any 800MHz CDMA coverage. If you're getting either of those, you're getting it from somebody else (most likely Alltel or even Verizon). So in essence you are getting the true blue Sprint network with these phones. Of course you can also roam onto other 1900MHz CDMA carriers, but there isn't as much of that.

yes you are right.... my point is exactly that ... if i switched to sprint i would get "everything" THEY have to offer... 1900...800 wheter roaming on an agreement or not when you add in those sprints coverage becomes a lot bigger than nextels so this hybrid phone DOES have severe limitations considering it is a "hybrid" like i said before... the hybrid coverage is ok where i am but its a draw maybe less dropped calls but there are a lot of places where sprint is and nextel isn't and vice versa... as big as nextel phones used to be and are why couldn't they have given us more of sprint and nextel capabilites? i know they say it could be interference... but remember back when digital phones first came out you make the phone look for 1 network? or let it choose? I think they could have done more.... they just want us to go to sprint side 1 way or the other!
they have "smart phones" tri mode phones... but cant make one to work on both networks? i find that really hard to believe... i understand that they couldn't pas off cdma to iden on towers but we should get no signal on cdma and be able to switch to iden to make calls

Well I've said all along that if they wanted these to be as successful as they could be they would have made them true dual mode phones, and just set CDMA to preferred for voice/data, but allow it to fall back to iDEN for both voice and data if there was an outage on the CDMA network or if there was iDEN coverage available but no CDMA. However, for whatever bizarre reason they didn't do that.

When the Sprint CDMA footprint matches the iden footprint (hopefully by the end of 2007) then we won't need voice on iden.....I know the CDMA tower where your at might go down but how often does that happen....but they are missing a lot by not giving us 800MHz so we can roam better

sprint will be matching the iden footprint by the end of 2007????
i hope so
but we will probably see a tsunami here on the east coast before that happens (the end of 2007)
people don't mind me i don't mean to cause any harm i am just tired of being unhappy with these people .... it might be time for me to leave and just bite the 175 bullet

i dont get whye people are blaming sprint from for not making the phone support all the mhz. Last time I checked sprint wasn't a manufacturer. I really could careless about sprint but f ur going to blame someone blame motorola. Second its been stated numerous amount of times that they couldnt pull all those 600 and 800mhz because of conflicting antennas. I would say be happy you got a dual mode phone at all. You could have none at all. if you dont live in a major market thats too bad then go to a different carrier. Some people don't have access to iden at all in canada they dont sit and post complains all day. Move or accept it. I dont mean to start an argument but i see a lot of people blaming sprint for a phone they DONT MAKE and complaining about not getting what they want from sprint. well you guys have it good you have tons of carriers to choose from in the u.s. tons of phones and its never good enough. We have no dual mode phones while they are coming we often have delays and get nowhere near the amount of selection you guys have in terms of general phones Iden is pretty much the same but we never got an i930 which some people wanted. anyway i just think people should stop blaming sprint for phones they dont make and stop complainng about coverage when you have other options

1) i didn't know moto just gave sprint phones and said "here take it or leave it" i thought SOMEONE had to approve or at least have input on it.... its usually the buyer of the phones (sprint.. nextel)
2) if you wanna pay my termination fee I'm out
3) I am sure you will find that many of have been patient but enough is enough
many peoples service is getting worse on the nextel side... we "used" to be happy customers until all of this stuff started happening

input yes. but if something cant be done it cant be done i.e. 2 antennas with 800 mhz
you guys got it good your termination fee is small compared to us. telus doesnt cap it and remember we have 3 year contracts. If your unsatisfied pay it and leave. I personally refuse to sign contracts so I am not tiedto anybody.
How does service get worse if they are building more towers and not taking down towers? That I dont get but maybe I dont know enuff out telecommunications to understandthat. If you mean customer service then I understand.
My point is still you guys have tons of choices. The features you have compared to what we have you have the good life. You guys get unlimited long distance between the all of your states. we have no such thing at all in canada.
All im saying is a lot of other places have nowhere near the selection or options you guys have. March 14th we will finally be getting number portability. If your not happy just leave.
You guys probably don't want to roam anymore anyway. I work for sprint/nextel, theres a thing going around that says everyone is getting a warning that if you roam too much, they are going to shut you off.
The ic502 is slowly becoming that guy at the party that everyone thought was cool......But hes not...
