OK, I thought the sprint/nextel merger, was the end of iDEN for that company.
That would leave only Southern Link, the one in Montana or where ever it is and the one we are starting in the Eastern Carolina area.
Yes, the company I work for is leaving analog in my area and going digital. My shop has trucking companys and taxi cabs, etc on group dispatch. We are starting to move them to iDEN. Any body know where I can find about 1000 mobiles, not hand sets. The old 3 watt Motorola M100 mobiles. I think we have only been able to find 150 or so.
We ran Privacy Plus and LTR. It would be a cinch to swap out the Privacy Plus mobiles for M100s. Just change the bracket.
We can't get the hybrids where i live they won't allow it due to it being a PCI market and not true sprint so iden has to be around for some time other wise the west MI area is going to have to convert to anybody but sprint.

If it is so hard to "cram" all of these frequencies into the 902 then how did they accomplish multiple bands in the I930 Nextel which has all GSM bands, Direct Connect, bluetooth mp3 etc. etc.. It CAN be done.

Easy. Either your GSM radio is powered up, or your iDEN radio is powered up, but both are never on at the same time. Same is not true for hybrids, CDMA and iDEN radios are on at the same time.
