Sidekick 3 Theme Hack

So people should already know how to add themes to there sidekick 3 by now.

But... To take a step forward... I need to know more info... Maybe you know...

A theme I found.

Is what I based my recent theme off of... So far the most advance uncovered coding theme I've seen so far...

It has:
-2 background
-Instant Messaging icon changed
-Organizer icon changed
-Applications icon changed
-Games icon changed
-Hindge close and open sound
-Splash screen the "people" are gone
-Oval select changed
xText Message icon does not work...

How about the other icons like:
-Download Catalog
-E-Mail
-Phone
-Address Book
-Web Browser
-Camera
-Music Player

I just need to know what the file names are of each icon.
Ex. "bitmap chooser-category-sms-large sms-large.png"
sms is not the correct name for it, it must be txt, msm, instant, ins, tms, etc... something like that.

After that you can Photoshop whatever icon you want on each.

If we (sk3 community) figure out what the names of the icons are, we can next figure out what are the folder names for... "General" Sounds, Alerts, Beeps, Chimes, Voice, etc... for e-mail, AIM noises and such... Cause I don't like hearing my door slamming everytime someone leaves...

It's actually more complicated that just adding a folder the right name, you HAVE to have the .txt file there... It's a whole C++ programing, .where you have have a command to where the sound should show up.

So if you know C++ you can surely figure this out...

if you look closely. The only icons that changed are the icons that have sub menus IE. The organizer, Messengers, etc. I dont think the single buttons like internet, can be changed.

Wow, true... Thanks for note ipodlover77. I over looked that.

But there was is an icon label for the "sms" logo. It must have worked for someone. Maybe there is a miss spelling or not catigorized correctly.



Well... Download is one that has folders... hmmm... Let me trial and error this shizznit.

oh and the 2 backrounds work the same. One on the main screen and the 2nd backround in the sub menus. If you download the mario theme, it has the same file format as the one you posted above.

Dang... I went though a series of script that doesn't work, just renaming to what I think the logos might be... Ugghh and tried the splash screens for the others 'catalogs' as well... *naww* I have to put this down and try later.

I'm keeping a list scripts that don't work, what a pain the ***... How would I get a hold of the script coding (programing) of the SK3? Would the FCC publicly show that? It would tell me what each folder is named...

"pim" who the world names an organizer "pim?"

I'm guessing it means "planner something"

This has nothing to d owith programming, in C++ or any other language. Its just a text file, its not even a hack.

That list , but not tied to the mario theme came out in the early posts by a poster named acidangel on one of the SK forums at the beginning.

I use most of those in all the themes for my SK3. Also you can put clear .jpg's in to remove aspects including the phone icon dealing with open to dial.

'Thing is that the "sk3 community" has nothing to do with that. If you don't like the door slamming everytime someome leave, just use the settings menu in the AIM client to change it. Nothing esoteric...

The name of the folder are right there in the list you've posted, so really you don't need help figuring them out.

In any cases, all that editing of a text file by hand is soon to be obsolete

JoeTest - Do you mean you removed the "Start Dialing!" splash?

Me wanting to change it how I want it to look is giving me a headach.

And I would also really like to know how to put my own Alert sounds...

Getting some games would be nice too...

Has every1 just 4gotten about all this! If u guys found out how to do this can u please post it cuz i am seeing complete themes posted all over the web with all the icons changed in them so I know it is possible to do this but the ppl who know how to do this arent posting the file and icon names! please if someone found out how to do this, please let me know how. I need to put a very good theme together and have all the icons needed for it but i just need to put them in the right strings.
