    Current AT&T GoPhone Rates/FAQs

    Pay as you Go service:
    Two available rates:
    ~ $0.25/minute
~ $0.10/minute, free m2m. $1 charged on days you use the phone

    Data rates:
~ $0.05/msg SMS (inbound and outbound)
    ~ $0.01/kb data

Refill card denominations and airtime expiry:
    ~ $15 - 30 days
    ~ $25/$50/$75 - 90 days
    ~ $100 - 365 days

An expiry date is given after refill, and if funds are not added before this date accumulated minutes will be lost.

    Pick Your Plan service:
    ~ $29.99 - up to 200 anytime minutes
    ~ $39.99 - up to 300 daytime minutes, 1000 nights and weekends (9pm-6am)

With Pick Your Plan service, an automatic payment must be established can with CC, debit card, or autodraft from a checking account ($1/month extra). If a payment is missed, there is a 3 day grace period after which the phone will be shut off and any balance forfeited.

    FAQs:
Can I use any phone on this service?
Yes, so long as it supports standard Cingular frequencies. Blackberries can be listed, but will only have voice/SMS service as the Blackberry provisioning is only available on the Blackberry plans. 3g phones technically cannot be listed on an account, but you can use a Cingular 3g phone without any issues.

Can I get a prepaid phone unlocked by Cingular?
Yes, but you have to have it active on the account for 90 days.

What is the roaming capability of GoPhones?
Pay as you Go is limited to Cingular native coverage. Pick your Plan has limited roaming (on Cingular affiliates such as Edge Wireless).

Do * services work on GoPhones?
No, but you can dial *777# to get your cash balance. Balances for text messages/data if you have a limited plan can be accessed through OLAM.

How do I use OLAM on prepaid phones?
    Pay as you Go: http://www.paygonline.com
    Pick Your Plan: http://www.selfincharge.com

The default passcode is the last four digits of your cell phone #. The code here is the same code you will be asked for when calling Customer Service.

How do I change my rate plan?
Call 611 or the voice response unit: 1-800-901-9878 for Paygo, 1-866-499-7888 for Pick Your Plan. The first change is free, after that a fee of $10 may be applied (if it's being abused). Also, you cannot change the type of rate plan (go PYP->Paygo or vice versa) within the first 30 days of service.

    Am I forgetting anything?

All Cingular phones use Sim cards. If you meant do they use refill cards, no not all of Cingulars PP plans use the refill card system." Pay As You Go" uses the refill cards. With "Pick Your Own Plan" you auto pay for monthly service with a credit card, debit card, or a checking account.

i was asking because i was thinking about getting a unlocked vodafone sharp 903sh and using it with the pay as you go for cingular because i heard that you can only use the vodafone phones for carriers like cingular/t-mobile etc.. which use sim cards so all you would need to do is pop in the sim into the 903sh and your set. Am i right? or am i misinformed? would switch two cingular, but i'm currently in a 2 year contract with Sprint.

Yes you can use an unlocked phone on Cingular's network but I would make sure that it uses GSM 850MHz frequency band as well as 1900MHz so you will have the best coverage possible with Cingular.

What basic calling features are included:
All basic calling features - caller ID, call forwarding, call waiting, 3-way calling, and voicemail. Any of these can be opted out of if you wish.

What are the costs for these features?
Call forwarding -> To forward a GoPhone is the standard minute rate. Calls forwarded to voicemail are the only exception (and will not trigger the $1 charge on the Paygo $1/day plan)
Call waiting/3-way calling -> 2 minutes used for each minute (same as postpaid). m2m and free nights/weekends can apply.
    Caller ID -> No charge
Voicemail -> Free to have, regular minute rate to check from the mobile except if nights or weekends are included with the plan. Can be checked from a landline once set up by dialing the phone # and hitting * once the greeting comes on - no charge for this.

Using GoPhone w/ my exiisting Att/Cing SIM

This may have been asked in another forum, but I could not find it...

I am now Month2Month w/ Cingular, as my 2 year commitment has been completed. I joined on the ATT plan (before the Cingular merger) and my plan is essentialy $20 lower per month (4 phones, 7pm nights/weekends) than what I can get to start up again.

One of my phones is no longer working (Nokia 3100). I would like to get a cheap unlocked phone to replace it with, but inexpensive and unlocked tend not to coincide. So, I thought to get the lowest-end go-phone and plug in my existing SIM card.

Any thoughts whether this will work?
    Thanks

It would have to be unlocked first to use it with an AT&T Wireless SIM card.

For OLAM you can also use www.cingularrefill.com (easy to remember), which actually redirects you to www.myprepaidrefill.com.
