Treatz has an FAQ on common terminology (as well as his quirky version) on the Rogers sub-forum. BYOD is not on there, though -- that is an American creation. Treatz's thread may help you, though.

This thread can be found here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...z-words-FAQ?s=

On second thought, it has been edited down to just the quirky abbreviations they use there. I can't seem to find a dictionary of abbreviations here currently.

$10 for 25MB? Umm... seems a little expensive to me.
    Home ISP, RR-Ultimate WiFi, $90/mo | Verizon 4G, $30/mo Unlimited

    School, $5,000/semester | Work

Oh yeah, the new (well it was new when it came out) 1.99 a day unlimited talk/2 cents a text plan for feature phones on days used should be mentioned . This took place in December of last year.

With any luck, I'll be posting another listing: the hoped for but possibly not coming $50 unlimited talk/text/mobile web plan for feature phones on Verizon prepaid.

are the rates the same, or is there a 2013 offering?

this seems distinct from daily prepaid ($2, $1 + minutes, $0 + minutes)

    It's this
Unlimited feature phone plan. Talk/text/mms/data. Unlimited. 30 days. $50.

    Smartphone plan w/unlimited talk/text/500megs $60
    Smartphone plan w/ unlimited talk/text/2gbs $70

    Daily plans :
99 cents daily access. 10 cents a minute anytime minutes. Unlimited daily mobile to mobile. Text is 10 cents each.

1.99 daily access. Unlimited talk. Texts are 2 cents each.

Paygo plan. 25 cents a minute. 20 cents a text.

All Daily/paygo plans have daily unlimited mobile web for 99 cents a day.

There are many more options including LTE broadband tablet data plans, usb 3g/4g broadband plans but the above phone plans are the core of Vz pp at this time.

Add one more plan to all this.

The new $35 500 anytime minutes/unlimited messaging/unlimited web access plan for feature/basic phones.
They do allow you to byod any Verizon prepaid or postpaid clean esn feature/basic phone . The only touchscreen is the Extravert.

Not Page Plus, but , something we'd never have imagined from Verizon just two short years ago.

As I read the current brochures, If you set up a Samsung Illusion on one of the monthly plans such as the $60 500m or $70 2G plans and make sure that you never have that much money on your account then it will fall back to ala carte rates. If this works it would be very helpful for those of us who are really tracfone types but wouldn't mind having occasional data access (mostly via. wifi) with out paying the "voice tax" that these unlimited plans require. I average maybe 20 minutes and an half dozen texts per month.

Has anyone confirmed that this will work?

More then likely your phone simply won't work . Unlike the feature phone plans, there is no Verizon prepaid paygo for smartphones.

I'd advise you possibly look into a Verizon no contract mvno like Page plus as Verizon's paygo is definitely one of their biggest weakpoints. Their rates are stuck at pre 2009 levels and probably have it staying that way to encourage people to try one of their monthly plans instead or just not take on any paygo users as they are not profitable as monthly users. Page Plus kills their paygo rates except on data (which sucks).

Data is the new cash cow...with voice and now SMS dwindling rapidly they've got to keep that ARPU up somehow.
