SE have factories in Sweden, UK, France, Japan, China, Malaysia..
That's all that I have encountered so far..
Do they?
I may be wrong, but I believe all Sony Ericcsons sold here, with may be exception of P series are made in Asia. I wonder what phones are made in UK and Sweden?
I just read an article in "Mobile News" magazine, it's about how doesn't it matter where your phone is made (topic which is often discussed here)
Let me quote (close translation) for you
"It's not important today in which country your phone is made. It was long ago when swedish ericssons were more valuable than malaysian (!), however nowadays almost all phones are made in countries of South Asia, - it's cheaper that way. Exceptions from this rule is Nokia (according to representatives of Nokia, phones for Russia and CIS countries must be made on one of three plants, located in Finland, Hungary or Germany.) Also untill lately Benq-Siemens had one of their plants in Germany"
So, let me correct myself, at least here almost all Sony Ericsson are made in Asia, so, there is no choice.
Anyone knows if I can change the Product Code and then update to the Chinese version (or to the language one prefers) using the Nokia Updater just like many have done on their N80/N73?
I've given this phone a bit of time for the dust to settle. That review was spot-on. Is the battery life still as good as the original review or has anyone experienced a lag in talktime or standby time? I really need a good battery life.
I use a LG U880 (nobody scoff!) as a work handset simply because the battery lasts, I want something half decent to replace this and so far this fits the bill bearing in mind size is the second most important quality Im looking for (Im big on small as far as phones go). Or any other recommendation to match the E65 (using the 3 network)? Thnx.
1 can you make the text any bigger on the home screen a littile small any options or software that lets you do this.
2 has anyone found the tool that lets you rotate the screen as some on here where looking into it ???
3 can you make the caller id rinf picture bigger on the screen with a option or program
4 can you get a program that locks the keypad auto when you finished a call but the slider is already shut.
5 also has anyone had problems with a slight buzz or poping when chating to people when the back lights are on the phones keypad at all??? i have read that someone got this on the E65 ????
6 is there a program that lets you use a video & ringtone when someone calls you instead of a picture ?
thanks for any help i was going to go for the samsung u600 but i like this phone better as i am not bothered at all about the camara as my last phone was 1 mega pixel anyway and i have a ipod for music just want a phone where i can use to make calls and txt and modify the themes but there seem to be alot more you can do with this phone to

No, unfortunately not. As for 3rd party software, I don't think there's anything available to date.

Not yet lol.

Yes, there are applications that enlarge the size of the thumbnail image. The only thing is that you have to have that 3rd party app running constantly in the background which may inadvertently affect the phone's performance.
"SkyeCaller Pro" is apparently such an app though I haven't tried it myself

Yes, auto keylock programs will do it with a timed delay

Nope, not on mine and I haven't heard any other complaints about that either.

doubt it but there may be. again you'd have to leave it running in the background...

glad you enjoyed the review. thx!
@ Bettyswallocks: The battery life is consistently good; however if you have apps running in the background and / or use it for more than what's considered 'normal' use, then you'd notice a faster depletion of the battery.

what do you mean by this just battery life or will the phone slow down to much ?????
all i want to add to this phone and run is
1 a new theme with icon change
2 lock keypad app
3 maybe run a app for bigger caller id pics
4 a rotate app if i can find one
would this effect the phone to much ???????
also when i run some of these can you have the option to have the apss on the home page that are running on or off on the screen i mean , so i ccan have a app running but no icon or info on the mains screen
1.) I shouldn't have to install an "SMS ACCELERATOR" on a phone released months after the program was released for all the existing handsets 2.) Nokia doesn't even have a version available for the E65 so I'm assuming that it comes built in (should be a good thing).
Regardless, I installed the E70-2 version on my phone and didn't notice anything.
I'm at a loss for words. Maybe there is an 'SMS accelerator for the E65' in the works but if there is I'll be a little dissapointed as per reason #1.
I'm hoping the first firmware upgrade that's released will solve all my woes from the slow sms to the malfunctioning dedicated mute/address book/own keys.
Here's to hoping...
accelerator only scans outbox and sends out msgs faster. it won't help with reading / openning sms when your inbox xolds 1000's of them. i think it's indexing problem within OS, but faster microSD will help you out if you store them on memory card
damn, the pictures that this phone takes suck so much I can't believe it. as always, nokia is true to itself: never offer a phone that is really good all around cause then people won't buy other nokias.
JP – I’m coming to this thread late as I’ve just recently taken an interest in the E65. Your review is very helpful.
You say “Loudspeaker and the conversation record button are also always accessible.” Does this mean the user can toggle between loudspeaker and handset during a call by pressing the voice key? Or is it necessary to use the soft keys to do this? On the N80, the loudspeaker/handset options aren’t available except on the standby screen, and if I’m in an application when I receive a call – web browsing, for example – I have to navigate back to the home screen, just to put the call on speakerphone.
