I do have a couple questions that I couldn't find a solid answer to anywhere after having read through your review and a couple others from other websites.
Where is the speaker? From all of the pictures I've seen, I can't find any ports or open areas to release any sound, shy of maybe the earpiece.
Is the speaker (wherever it is located) mono or stereo? I know that if it's one speaker, it's obviously mono, but the speaker on the N70 and N80 sounded like the dual speakers on the N73, but the E70 sounded like crap. Having owned the N73 and E70-2 recently, which of those speakers does the E65 sound like?

The location of the speaker is shown in several pictures. I asked Rapolu about the sound quality and he says that it's comparable with E61 sound. He also said that the bass is better than in N73.

The speaker is a little slit on top of the side keys. It sounds good but not as good as the N73. It's slightly better and louder than the E70-2. It almost sounds stereo...

I'd have to disagree with you on that. It's actually one of the best on nokia. Better than the N80, 6131 and most others.
The N73 being the best with 3D audio technology.
Maybe you should download better quality music.
haha better qualtiy? 192kbit is enough on a mp3 file... of all the phone that i had the E65 has the worst sound from the speakers i heard.. but im still pretty pleased with the phone.
JP - Thanks for posting the link to the Nokia theme software! I've been looking for something simple like that since I got the phone a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't like any of the solutions I found.
I feel the same way about the phone--minus the ridiculous camera, it's one of the better phones I've owned recently. I've had it for a couple of weeks and oddly don't feel the urge to changes phones (yet).
Well lets take the phones from the last year ..SE k610, W810,,
even my old 6230 had a better speaker
Honestly, you're just making yourself look like a fool now.
Please don't even waste bandwidth with musk like that....The 6230/k610/W810i's loudspeaker doesn't even sound half as good as my E65's regular earpiece.

nothing wrong with my handsets since i already have 2 E65 and they sound the same...
