That's the biggest difference between Bluetooth 1.2 vs. 2.0 + EDR. That and A2DP support.

I found the answer! According to the Features page on the E65 website, it says "In Singapore, My Own will be a shortcut access to the Internet", which explains why they use a globe rather than the star.

    Mystery solved!

But I also get high transfer speeds (50+K) with my 6630. Does that mean my 2+ year old 6630 has 2.0 + EDR?

As do I. Though I enjoyed 100k speeds with my N73. I was merely alluding to the fact that anything less than 50k was normal for BT 1.x spec. I should have been more clear. :-)

JP - great review. one question to which I can't find a straight answer to:

How does the menu speed compare to the s40 platform (specifically 6131)

I would like to upgrade to the e65 so I can run some map apps as well as have a more effective calandar, but I do not wish to have menu lag that I've seen with other S60 phones (e62 for example)

    thanks

JP: You have been using the E65 as your main phone for almost a month now...any issues with the slider?

Nope. I like to flick the slide out and shut for fun. It's 99% as good as the 8800/8801.

My only complaint is that it's difficult to shut the slide without either putting your finger on the top and pushing it down or your thumb on the screen and gently flicking it down. (I recommend a screen protector)

My thumb doesn't get a good enough grip on the ridge between the top left and top right soft keys to use that to close the slide.

The menu is excellent. It's one of the fastest Symbian phones out. I can't compare to the E61 but it's definitely faster than the E70, N80, and N73.
I do experience a lag sometimes when opening a text message as of late.

I have a combined 1'000+ messages on my phones between the inbox, outbox, sent items and email so I'm not sure if it's that, the BB connect, or what that makes it lag but there can be one from time to time.

Mute, Own Key (My MP3 Player), and the address book are instantaneous when they work.
