    The Long and Winding Road...

Has finally come to a bridge...and crossed over the cellular Rubicon!

I have a VZW e815 successfully running the Bell firmware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Details, screenshots and all other discussion to follow subsequent to my getting all the data stuff worked out. Assuming there are no unanticipated hurdles doing that then I will post a guide and explanation.

I was able to obtain the Ampd Mobile 2.5.0R Monster file and flashed it on my VZW e815.
All went fairly smoothly except data services which didn't work even though things appeared to be in place. I made sure everything else was OK and then went ahead and flashed to Bell.

The flash went smooth as silk and the phone booted right up and appeared not to have lost anything. I have yet to go over it all and add the java stuff and tweak it but I thought it deserved a preliminary announcment.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Wirelessly posted (kbman's Moto e815: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.1.7139/1630; en; U; ssr))

Just reactivated my Bell phone to make sure data works and it does. Now I am going to pass out! Will report back later.

Now the dilemma... My fianceé's NE2 comes up next month...do I tell her about this now and run the risk of her wanting to keep her phone, or do I wait til she gets her new one, and then just take over the e815...? But then I woud have to wait a month to try this hack...damnit. And even if I get away with it, we dont get married til 7/1.

I believe he's talking about the AMPd e816 E816_X_2.5.0R Monster which you can find at http://ryfiles.com/flash/ or http://www.humpa.com/vzw/

Right, it is Amp'd first. And then again with the Bell.

Verizon -> Bell = no good

    Verizon -> Amp'd -> Bell = Great Success, High 5!

I don't think so, 'cause he said he was 'able to obtain' it... That Amp'd flash on Ry Ry's and Humpa's site isn't a monster, it's just a customer upgrade.

The file on Humpa's site is only the upgrade file that we got from QuentinCollins when he used the MSU to grab it. It doesn't work on VZW hardware.

This is a monster file and it came from an anonymous benefactor.

I just woke up so I haven't had a chance yet to go over the phone yet.

I still have a bit of work to do to get everything working and I don't want to post anything until I get it all figured out.

Thus far, it's a very straightforward process but I want to be sure before I put it out there.

Go on Ebay and get your e815s before the news breaks!

Hmmmm... yeah I guess my confusion was that he referred to it as the same version as on the site but apparently he has the monster

Oh, and I do so hope that this news returns the e815 to it's proper place of prominence on HoFo...at least for a little while.

I've been so frustrated watching everyone else have all the fun these days with RAZRs and KRZRs,
I just had to do something to shake it up!
