is this phone able to have access to post on forums like this one?
wap.howardforums.com works very well with the current Blackberries (doesn't require a 'hack' like windows mobile does), so it stands to reason that it will work on the 8830 as well.
why o why...i wanted the 8300 blackberry curve, it's so much smaller than the 8830, looks like i may be stuck with the 8830...does anyone know if the 8300 is coming to verizon at all? (i hope it does soon)...all these new devices, i'm losing track of what series has different features when compared to each other...also is it possible to get a 8300 curve unlocked and use it on verizon?

Huh? Check out this link provided by another member. Can't figure out your statement going googoo-eyes over the size of the Curve when that is the smallest difference. I could understand if you wanted GSM, or another carrier....but the size isn't a big factor between the two, or at least it is VERY minimal.
So, I guess this phone can not be used in U.S. for GSM provider at all, even though it is unlocked.
I don't see 1900Mhz from GSM, so it is not working in U.S. except CDMA network.
I hope VZW can process "unlock" request from the customer if they want.
For an example, AT&T/Cingular provide unlock code if you call Internal customer service department after 90 days of service, and tell them your plan to visit GSM country.
In that case, if VZW allows "unlocked code" for BB8830, I could use "dual SIM" to have local SIM and VZW SIM. So I could have VZW data/voice service roaming along with cheap/economical way to call local people.
I think it is ridiculous to charge International roaming fee for calls next to each other.

VZW doesn't have/use a SIM. They use ESNs to determine whether or not a phone can use their network. The only "unlocking" VZW will do with this phone is the GSM portion for use on non-US networks. I guess Moo Moo Land doesn't use CDMA.
