It's amazing how quickly rumors spread as fact on the internet. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing your call on the 8830 and it would be great to have actual internal info pointing to an early May release date for the Pearl.
I'm also amazed at the number of threads over on blackberry forum citing a financial analyst's wild prediction as fact without looking at the source and his/her reasoning.

Agreed. I'd be shocked if a Pearl drops for VZW in May. There've been no "in the wild" sightings and no mention of it on leaked VZW docs, at least that I'm aware of.
One theory I've read is that the analyst that spoke of the Pearl launch on VZW made a mistake and mixed up the Pearl with the 8830 cyclone model. That would make more sense. There even have been rumors of the 8830 release on that May 14 date.
Let's face it...other than that analyst speculation, there have been none of the usual signs of an upcoming release of the Pearl on Verizon...no leaked shots or internal docs, etc...the 8830 on the other hand, we have the usual leaked materials coming out...at this point all signs point to the 8830 on VZW soon, but no Pearl...
How does this phone compare in size to the Treo 700W. I have the Treo but i am looking for something smaller and Non-Windows mobile. Do you guys think this phone will do the trick?

The 8830 should be the same size as the 8800 currently out for Cingular (and maybe TMobile). Check it out.
If I squint hard enough at the spy shot ... it mentions Bluetooth DUN at the bottom? Is Verizon seriously going to allow this considering they've crippled every other device that has this feature?
