    Unless you have a US Cellular V3C MONSTER, you might not be able to recover. I haven't seen a US Cellular monster leaked yet.

    The Alltel firmware is very similar... and there is an Alltel V3C Monster at -> http://www.humpa.com/vzw/

    then see -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/HowToFlash.htm

    THere is a US Cellular V3C UPGRADE available, so maybe flash the Alltel monster to recover, then the US Cellular upgrade?? NOT SUre.. I haven't done it so... proceed with caution... then again, since your phone doesn't work now.. I guess it can't get any worse??

    Bigdaddy, recovery is built into MSU. While turning on the phone, hold down * and # before you hit end/power, you should get into the bootloader (blue Motorola logo screen). Then start MSU again, it should ask you to start from scratch.

    I downloaded the file and my PC tell me that it is an unknown file and to look onto the web and I don't know where to go from there.

    Correct. .SHX is a Moto firmware flash file, and your PC wont have any native support for it. You need to have the correct software installed, and even then that extension wont get associated. i.e. You'll have to launch the software, and then do a "File -> Open"... you'll never be able to just "double click" on a .shx file...

    The software you're going to need to flash with is copyright/warez... so don't ask for links to it, as its against the forum rules... But Google is your friend...

    See -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/HowToFlash.htm

    Again... while the Alltel firmware appears to be SIMILAR... it may not be exactly the same as the US Cellular firmware... So, you might be able to recover, but the question remains... will you be able to get the phone active, and have all features working on US Cellular's service?

    Note: I'm unaware of anyone who has flashed the USCellular Upgrade firmware on top of the Alltel firmware... i.e. flash Alltel Monster to recover, then flash the US Cellular upgrade to get back to US Cellular's default firmware.

    Bigdaddy, my recommendation is to try to restore using MSU. If you flash the Alltel load on your phone, MSU will probably not ever work again unless it also recognizes the Alltel load that you found..

    Not sure MSU can recover properly from a bad flash... I guess it depends on how wrong the flash process went...

    and I'm not sure if the UPGRADE type flash will be enough...

    Bigdaddy,
    MSU can't be used to flash .SHX files that it doesn't download from motorola... i.e. You can't go on your own and get a flash file linked from say -> http://www.humpa.com/vzw and use MSU to flash that firmware onto your phone... If you can... I haven't seen the writeup of how to yet... that is where the WAREZ programs I alluded to earlier come into play... they can flash your phone with these other firmwares.

    Right now... your first thing to try is like a1b2c3d4e5 suggested... Put the phone into boot loader mode, (by pressing/holding * and # keys while using the power button to turn the phone "on"... if that doesn't work... disconnect the USB cable, remove the battery, and hold those keys down while plugging the USB cable in.) Then try MSU and see what happens... hopefully it will try and flash your phone again with the proper firmware, and be succesful.

    I don't think you can get a build from MSU that could ever brick your phone. If the flashing process fails, the phone should boot up straight into the bootloader (even without *-#-PWR, at least on 3G/GSM), at which point MSU can still reflash the phone again.

    Is that even when you try putting the phone in Boot Loader mode first? (by pressing/holding * and # keys while using the power button to turn the phone "on"...)

    Yes, I have no other way to do it but put it into boot loader mode because when I turn the phone on the keys will lock and the phone will go back to the hellomoto screen then back to the hellomoto screen etc.

    Bigdaddy, can you answer a few more questions:

    1) Was your phone working normally before you tried MSU

    2) Is it possible your battery is dying because you've tried this too many times w/o charging

    3) Does it fail at exactly 82% every time? Also where does it say 82%? On the bootloader or in MSU (or both)?
