    Reverse Phone Lookup

I did a reverse phone lookup on the Web with my Tracfone number. It listed my number as a cell number, then said the provider was Verizon Wireless. Does this mean my Tracfone is usually on the Verizon network within my home area?

Tracfone uses Verizon, Alltel or USCC as the underlying carrier for CDMA activations. Since you have a Nokia 2126 and a Verizon phone number, then it would be reasonable to assume that Verizon is the primary (or only) CDMA carrier in your area.

Go to Tracfone's website and click on View Coverage Maps. Put in the zip code that you used to activate your phone and then right click on the coverage map. Select Properties and you will see your home SID at the top.

Go to BillRadio's website, http://www.mountainwireless.com and click on the SID List link. You can then look up the carrier that owns the SID and you will know for certain.

If you don't wish to do all that, chances are, if you have a Verizon number, then it's almost certain that Verizon is your home carrier.

Thank you VERY much for that info! I didn't know you could check your home SID that way. I looked and my home area is indeed a Verizon area. I always get a strong signal with my 2126.

I just discovered that you may get a different SID from right-clicking the coverage map on Tracfone's website than you will get checking the SID on your phone!

Tracfone shows my SID as 4182 but my phone says it is 4119 so you may want to check your SID again directly on your phone. Just key in *#743# (*#SID#) if you don't already know.

I joined this forum today to really thank you, I had a similar concern related to this, your website link cleared things up.
