Got a dumb question.
So on my Nokia there are 3 access points. AT&T internet, AT&T Medianet under WAP Services, and AT&T MMS which also uses wap.cingular. Is there any difference between the three and which one should I be using optimally with my data plan?

The at&t medianet one uses a proxy server and sends you to wap sites and the at&t internet one does not. The at&t internet one uses a direct connection so use that. At&t mms I'm not sure about. I guess deals with your multi media messaging? I used to have a N95 and E71 and always used at&t internet and they worked great.

The Tilt has a program called internet sharing which allows you to tether a laptop over USB and or Bluetooth. You have to search for it in the windows file directory.. its called IntShr, once you find it, open it and its self explanitory...

ive tried that, but i cant seem to get the connection going, maybe im doing something wrong
it gives me two choices either usb or bluetooth pan, obviously i go with bluetooth
then there is another drop down on the same page that asks for the network connection
gives me some options

You need to choose media Net.. What is not working..?? Are you getting an error connection message.??

my mistake i meant to say ipad
i also tried to see if my laptop could catch the connection through blue tooth but couldnt find it
Did you pair up the Laptop to the Tilt b4 trying to do bluetooth pan / tethering..??
The iPad can only be tethered over wifi... the tilt itself cannot do a 3G wifi hotspot in its original form. You need a 3rd party program to do that.
yea i paired everything, like i said before its probably something small that i am overlooking causing the problem.
Ok, so im assuming that your are trying to tether your laptop to your Tilt over bluetooth correct..?? What needs to be done is go into IntShr, once open you connect via media net, and select bluetooth and hit connect... Once it connects, it will tell you to go to your bluetooth on your PC and do a bluetooth PAN... Thats when you go to your laptop and right click on the bluetooth icon and select JOIN A PERSONAL AREA NETWORK... That should open up the list of paired phones that will allow you to do a bluetooth PAN / tethering... Find the Tilt phone that you already paired with and hit connect... Then it will connect to your tilt and done... Give it a few seconds to get an IP address and done, now you can surf the web....
What part of that is NOT working when you try it..??
are there any apps that can allow you to share a 3g over wifi like a hotspot? or am i just better off getting the pre
Well on my HTC Mogul thru Sprint i used WM WiFi Router (not free) which setup up a 3G wifi hotspot... But later i was told that i didnt need to use that program as it was right there in my face, all i had to do was download ICS control panel (free), and put in the settings needed, then download HTC WiFi router (free) and activate it and DONE... a free 3G wifi hotspot... All this is done automatically thru WM wifi Router (not free)... Its a cab file written to do all these settings for you at a $price$ tag....
but im not sure this is possible thru the Tilt... Sure its the same WM 6.1 but being that is a different phone, it may or may not be the same, but i have not tried it cause i dont have that phone anymore... I have the iPhone now.
But when i did have the Tilt, 2+ yrs ago, the ICS control panel and HTC wifi router was not available to my knowledge.... So i just purchased WM wifi Router and let it do its job and it worked great and i used it for 2+ yrs... But b4 getting wm wifi router for that 3G wifi hotspot, i used the IntShr program and just did bluetooth tethering all the time...
