Whats up gang...I know im totally going to get abused for this, but Ive searched this whole thread and Ive searched google too...Im finding the answer, just not in laymen terms..Im sort of computer illiterate as well...Here goes
-I have a tilt and im trying to tether it with my pc cause I have no internet connection at the moment. Ive had some success with the internet sharing and have connected...but it is so slow. Im really not getting anywhere...Im using the usb connection and media sharing options..Can someone help me.
sounds like u have bad Coverage area you probably on the EDGE network when you Tethering? when i tethered with my tilt i been on 3G network and i been getting decent 1Mbps connection with two Bars of Signal
I have the Tilt with BlackBerry connect which happens to include unlimited data for $44.99. I wanted to tether to my laptop and was told that to do that I would have to put the tethering add-on to my service which upped my data price another $15.00 as you can see below.
So, if I remove the tethering add-on and still tether, what will happen?
Will it work?
Will my account be flagged?
The question I am basically asking is that I already had "unlimited" data, why should I pay $15 more per month to piggyback my service to my laptop?????
If you all think I need to or should legally, I will, I just don't know what the etiquette is. I do know that when I was with T-Mo, it cost me nada to tether but I had their crummy Edge service (which is why I moved).
I purchased a medianet unlimited plan for one of my lines in anticipation of switching to a blackjack 2 phone which was to be delivered via fedex later that day. One week later, the plan was removed. Customer service says it was an automated removal, because the plan isn't compatible with the phone. Is that correct?
I've read the plan description online, and the data terms, and don't see anything indicating that the medianet plan can't be used with that phone. The rep I spoke with acknowledged that the web site doesn't say anything about it, but insists it's not compatible.
Since I ordered the plan on the web site, it seems to me the terms listed on the web should apply. Am I missing something?

You're absolutely right. There is nowhere in writing on the web site that says anything about not using Media Net on a PDA or smartphone. But when you talk to them they'll tell you it's "not compatible" despite the fact that the Terms and Conditions (which don't hold back about telling you what is forbidden) don't say anything to suggest this.
What "got" you is that you ordered a Blackjack from AT&T and they went ahead and removed Media Net for you for mutual convenience
If you want it back, call up CS, tell them you're switching back to your old phone, and that you want to switch back to Media Net. Give them the IMEI of the other phone so that it's your phone on record.
You may want to put your SIM in the old phone and turn it on before you call just in case they go look to see what phone you're using. Even put it in before you go to bed, leave it on, and call in the morning. This isn't necessary but it would help corroborate your claim.

If I do this, will it be removed again once the blackjack is in use again?
