Sony ericsson W810i walkman problem (unknown artist/album)

Hey all I was wondering if anyone has an answer to a problem I'am haveing. Ok I'am running vista home premium, Well I have dragged and dropped several music folders/Artist to my 4GB memory card and when I open the walkman and click on artists only a couple show up the rest are under unknown artist/album. Now I have also tried the disk to phone with similar results. Is it an Id3 tag problem. I don't have an id3 tagging program.
So It is annoying to open unkown album and see 15 track #1 ,15tack #2 etc.
can any one make an sense of this..

normally its an id3 problem, but the fact ur using vista makes me think otherwise in this case. vista isn't supported at ALL yet, so i'd recommend using xp for transferring stuff to phone (and syncing and all that).

Thanks for the suggestion I will give it a try. What you are suggesting is running disc 2 phone in XP mode????

dunno about vista but with XP you can right click the file then properties then the summary tab then advanced and edit the tag all you want (even select multiple file and do the same)

Where did you get the files from? If you got them with the 5 finger discount then they could be labeled wrong to begin with.
