I had never flashed a phone before and, quite frankly, didn't know what I was getting myself into. This guide helped me flash my 8550 and taught me a lot.
Thanks for all the time you put into it.

EDIT: Internet and Pic messaging work too.

I was gonna say that I thought these settings can be entered from the sevice menu (Menu + 0 times 7 in my case.). No cable needed.

Go to your control panel and then "phone and modem" and delete all of the ports that are in the modem tab.

Restart your machine and reconnect your phone. That usually does the trick for me if I have flashed quite a few phones...

I've gotten my ENV working with cricket voice just fine, but when I try and go further, the NV Edit window has a blue background and refuses to let me edit anything. I'm using LG Download 1.6.

Any idea what could be causing this?

I think the drivers came along with the DLL for the phone; you'll need the DLL later anyway, so make sure to install it.

Find out what port the phone is on. Open the LG Download. If it says it cannot open the port, go to the config tab and port setting and click on the port your phone is on. Unclick the other port that the phone is not on.

Close LG Download and reopen it with the phone plugged in. Now it should recognize the phone.

I understand this is somewhat new to you. It was new to me at one time too. I had problems figuring out how to get the phone to connect as well. But I kept playing with it until I figured it out.

Please do not use this forum for every little problem you encounter. This forum is simply a guide. It is up to us to figure the rest out.
