I just tried three times now. (I thought I would order and then return when the 6800 comes out.) Not one rep could even pull it up now. They must have removed it after seeing it on Engadget.
Yea, it had nothing to do with the 100's and 100's of calls Telesales got since yesterday.
I also ordered mine last night at 8:45pm here in Arizona. Having constantly been refreshing my e-mail I finally got the tracking number today at 2:00 it will be here on Monday.
For those of you who just couldn't get it, I am so sorry. Maybe Verizon will get the hint that they need to keep their customers up to date with what is going on. After all we the customers are who keep them in business. What ever happened to go old fashioned customer service.
Having fun playing with my new phone the Samsung SCH-i760
I would kindly remind those lucky early buyers of two facts brought to my attention.
1) the tracking number is only that the shippment has been processed by fedex, and even though is says "picked up" the fedex facility it is in is a verizon warehouse here in Memphis, TN (at least here in the southeast)
2)Memphis is unique that the cut off for overnight delivery here is 11:00 PM. It is possible, although unlikely, that they can still recall these orders today.
I am hopeful that us early buyers are rewarded for our punctuality and persistence with a very cool phone tommorow or monday, as the case may be, but realisically, we're not out of the woods yet, or better, I don't feel out of the woods yet. Seeing is believing, and Verizon has taught me well not to get my hopes up.
Does anyone know if the release date scheduled for the 24th will be for online purchases only or will they be available in retail stores as well?
Of course I'm sick to death that I didn't get in on one of these, so I'm anxious to know if on the 24th, I can just go pick one up or will I have to order it and wait yet another two days.
Thanks in advance.
Peace

I hope we don't get any issues when trying to activate the phones...
I was talking to my local VZW guy (he thinks this entire scenario is hilarious, by the way), and he mentioned that some folks might be hosed when it comes time to activate the phones. Why? Because VZW hasn't sent out the activation instructions, yet. Of course, it might be a matter that my guy simply doesn't have the directions, but he was showing me the website where he gets that stuff, and there was no mention of the i760.
Well, I mean, to activate all you need is to put the ESN to the activation page on VZW's website and then do a #228, but I was thinking they may not allow these early release ESN's to activate on their end. I guess I'm assuming the process is in large part automated. But between this forum and the PDAPhone forum, the attitude seems to be "Hey! You got us! Here ya go, knock yourself out", which would be the essence of good fortune, but as a said before, I kind of think that Verizon is still in a position to have the last word on this. To our advantage, the fallout of this falls on a Saturday, and Suits and Ties don't typically work on Saturday if they don't have to.

I just checked, and my phone left Memphis at 6:48pm, so it looks like VZW didn't hold it up in the warehouse! WOO!

Personally, I'd love to see you post a picture of yourself holding the phone--preferably by Tuesday. Its not released yet and I am not sure how they are able to send you a phone that has not yet been released.
There is some silly rumor going around that if you call in to customer service, they'll send one out to you.
So with your 2 day Fed ex, Tuesday should be plenty of time to have a picture up of you holding the phone.

I told him that I've got the SKU if that would help and he kinda chuckled and said, "I've never had a customer give me a SKU before! ... Oh, there it is!" He set it up and then he told me, "I'd love to sell you some accessories but they're not in my system so I can't even look them up." At which point I offered him the SKUs for the car charger and the holster. Hahahahahaha
I think he had a good laugh about it -- but my phone is on it's way!!
This was the second rep that I spoke with today, and the third counting the one I talked to last night. If you don't get lucky with one rep, call back in!
EDIT: Pricing was $199 after 2-year renewal, NE2, ADD.
Pinged my corporate sales rep last night and received this reply at 8:51am EDT this morning:
If someone has a Verizon Samsung i760, I don't know how they have it. I don't even have access to stock quantities, nor is it listed yet under Samsung devices yet. As far as I know it isn't available yet.

i don't think that's a rumor - that's a verified fact. proof in the form of pictures have been provided.
